I looked it up from her past threads:

She goes to East Tennessee State University.
There are 4 nationals, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Kappa Delta, and Sigma Kappa, and 1 local, Phi Sigma Beta.

The KD chapter was just very recently colonized.

Oooh.....very, very cool :) Although all of the rush threads are fun, they are so much more exciting when a KD chapter is involved! :)

Good luck, Jessica! I hope that you have a great time!

Jessica:
Hope you're having a great recruitment. Glad to see you had fun on your first night. Remember to keep your mind and heart open each night, you'd be surprised how your opinion can change and you can open up to a whole other group of women during the experience.
Keep us updated!
Good luck,
violets

Jessica:
Your night sounded like it went well. I actually think that philanthropy night is very educational and lets you connect with the values of the chapter. But skit night is always a blast, you are going to have the most fun, I promise!
I'm glad you are meeting women that you "click" with, that is so great!
Good luck and keep posting,
violets

I'm sorry your rush experience isn't going exactly how you hoped, but I think you have a wonderful attitude. Rushing girls was hard for me, I didn't think I was ever that good at it, so remember that how people act in that setting can be a lot different. These girls must really like you and I think it's great you stuck with them and are liking them more as time goes on.
About the quota thing, I am pretty sure that is wrong. There is one quota, whether you have 30 sophomores and 5 freshman, I don't think it matters. I am almostly completely sure that what you heard is incorrect. It certainly seems unfair. Can anyone back me up?

There could be two different quotas. It varies from campus to campus... although one quota is usual some schools have a different quota for upper classmen.

For example, at the University of Texas it was almost impossible to get a bid if you were a junior so they implemented "Jr. Quota". Basically, they take the total number of Jrs going through, divide that by the number of chapters (14) and that's Jr Quota so Quota is sometimes quoted as, "58 + 3 Jrs."

It doesn't hurt the freshmen and sophomores going through (although it could now be argued that it's easier to get a bid as a Jr than as a Soph) but it's kind of a "Freebie" new member for those chapters that typically would not bid an upper classman

I'd check with your PX. Only someone from your campus, or someone familiar with ETSU Rules can tell you for sure.

Wow, your attitude is amazing, you are going to give so much to those around you no matter what happens. I'm so impressed.

I'm so sorry about being cut from your top choice.... the ranking stuff all sounds complicated to me, too. I hope I can untangle it all before I have to face my bid list...

I know things will turn out okay for you! You seem to have a really great attitude, and a really open mind.... my very best wishes!

XOXO,
Annie.
