I picked this up from another listside. And you wonder why some of us are seen as national jokes.

Beanie Sigel has launched a line of clothing, State Property, which

contains hidden pockets and gun holsters. The line is manufactured via

Roc-A-Wear, but Sigel described it as "hard everyday wear." "You know how

you put your gun in your waistline and you gotta worry about it slipping?

With these clothes, you don't got to worry about that. It's already in

there," Sigel told AllHipHop.com.

L.A. Times Fingers Rival in Tupac Shakur's Murder
Fri Sep 6, 7:19 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Six years after rapper Tupac Shakur was killed in an unsolved drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, the Los Angeles Times on Friday identified his arch-rival, Notorious B.I.G., as a key player in the crime.

Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was himself gunned down in Los Angeles the following year.

The Times reported in its online edition that it was Wallace who provided the weapon used to murder Shakur as well as $1 million bounty.

The two-part report, based on a year-long investigation by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chuck Philips, will run in the paper's Friday and Saturday editions.

It identified Shakur's killer as Orlando Anderson, who belonged to Los Angeles' gang called the Crips. Anderson, who was never considered a serious suspect, was later killed in an unrelated shooting.

Shakur and Wallace had been feuding for more than a year as part of a rivalry that split the rap community between the west coast (Shakur) and the east coast (Wallace). They exchanged insults in recordings and at award shows and concerts.

Shakur was shot -- while riding in a high-profile convoy of luxury cars along Las Vegas Boulevard on Sept. 7, 1996 -- just hours after he and his entourage had beaten up Anderson in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel where they had attended a Mike Tyson boxing match, the Los Angeles Times said.

The beating was in retaliation for an incident in which Anderson helped his gang beat and rob one of Shakur's bodyguards, who belonged to the rival Bloods gang, the paper said. After the MGM beating, Anderson quickly set up a Crips meeting at the Treasure Island Hotel and planned Shakur's murder, it added.

Wallace, who was also in Las Vegas at the time, was brought into the picture after the Crips decided to make some money out of their plan. Wallace agreed to give them $1 million, on one condition: he wanted the satisfaction of knowing that Shakur had been killed by his gun, and he pulled out a .40-caliber Glock pistol, the paper said.

Hours later, Shakur was hit by four rounds fired from a Cadillac that had pulled up next to his BMW, where he was a passenger in the front seat. No one saw who fired the gun, and Shakur died six days later.

The people behind the shooting got away easily, and Wallace paid the Crips the first $50,000 of the promised $1 million a week after Shakur's death, the paper said.

In March 1997 Wallace was shot to death in his car while visiting Los Angeles for the Soul Train Music Awards. That crime also remains unsolved. Anderson was shot dead in May 1998.

The Los Angeles Times said the three other Crips who rode with Anderson that night in Las Vegas still live in Los Angeles and none of them has ever been questioned by police about the crime.

I heard on the radio this morning that investigators have a suspect for the murder of Tupac Shakur. They say that a crypt from Compton by the name of Orlando Anderson is suspected as the murderer. They also say that there are conflicting reports that the murder weapon was given to Anderson by the late Biggie Smalls. Has anyone else heard this, or know a link to the article?

Or it could be that Ja is just angry because he and DMX are/were supposed to be cool. I haven't heard of any feuds, but I have noticed that X has been passing words about Ja. Interesting.

R Kelly is being allowed to travel. This past weekend R Kelly attended two celebrity pool parties. A judge ordered Kelly to surrender his passport and to stay away from minors. R Kelly attended the parties in Miami, Florida but the promoters did not make a lot of money. The parties had to be stopped because of on going fights. The promoters didn't want to pay R Kelly because they felt he brought the wrong crowd and they lost money but they had to pay up because they signed a contract with R Kelly. R Kelly has to go to court on Sept. 20th to face child pornography charges.

"We are outraged at the false and damaging statements," Wallace's family said in a statement. "For the record, Wallace was at his home in New Jersey on the night of Tupac Shakur's murder, with friends who will continue to testify for his whereabouts since he is unable to defend himself."

One of those friends, Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s Lil' Cease, told MTV News he felt the Times' story was preposterous and refuted Philips' allegation against his buddy.

"I got the article about seven this morning," said Cease, who had heard a vague description of the story the night before it was released. "I was just like, 'That's total nonsense.' "

Cease claims Biggie was in the New York recording studio Daddy's House the morning of the shooting, and that he then returned to his home in Teaneck, New Jersey, to watch that evening's Mike Tyson fight on pay-per-view. Cease said documentation exists confirming Biggie's studio session that day.

"We watched that fight at home," Cease affirmed. "Big was in the studio earlier that day, did what he had to do in the studio, then went back home and we watched the fight. We wasn't nowhere near Vegas."

Cease also refutes Philips' claim that Big had strong ties to the Crips and hired them to act as security guards when traveling to the West Coast.

"It wasn't no Crips rolling with us," Cease said. "We didn't really do no shows [in Los Angeles]. We did one show out there and that was '94, when we did the Puff Daddy, Mary J. Blige and Jodeci tour. That was the only time we performed out there. All that stuff, throwing up gang signs and stuff like that, that's just media hype. When we was out there, we never used no security from out there. Anybody that was with us was from New York."

Family and friends of the rapper stressed that Biggie would never have killed Tupac.

"Chistopher's character was both sensitive and loving," his mother, Voletta Wallace, said in a statement. "Not only could my son not have participated in such a crime, but he also wept openly and was desperately saddened at the news of Tupac's death."

Faith Evans, Biggie's widow, said in a statement that there's no truth to what Philips wrote about her husband. "Our family continues to grieve over these and other lies perpetrated by irresponsible parties," she said.

Members of Wallace's family said they're considering a lawsuit against the Times "for untruthful statements and accusations which amount to character assassinations of someone who is himself the victim of an unsolved murder."

Writer Randall Sullivan investigated both rappers' murders for his book "LAbyrinth," which inspired the upcoming documentary "Biggie and Tupac," and he said he hopes the legal action will reveal the truth behind Philips' story.

Both he and former LAPD Detective Russell Poole, the main source in "LAbyrinth," agree with Philips that Crips gang member Orlando Anderson shot Shakur, but they believe Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight was behind the crime.

"It sounds like the story was written by Suge, who wants to take some heat off of him[self]," Poole said.

"I think the real question to ask is how did Philips connect with the Crips?" Sullivan added. "Was it Suge Knight, which I strongly suspect it was? And what would be their motive?"

Knight declined to comment on Friday's Times article.

Philips said Crips wouldn't discuss the shooting in the months after it occurred, but that five years later he was able to find people willing to talk. "After it's all forgotten, people feel differently," he said.

"I believe the story we constructed for this paper, everything I have written in there," Philips added. "I heard lots of things and went down lots of paths with this story. It's not like I started out on Monday and ended on Friday. It was a period of more than a year, and countless interviews with individuals that I know no reporter has ever talked to and the police have never interviewed about what I have written here."

Donald David, the lawyer representing Shakur's family, said he was not surprised by the allegations in the Times, but that he believes there is "no evidence either one way or the other" that Biggie was involved in the crime.

"Afeni [Shakur, Tupac's mother,] still believes that the police have not done virtually anything to solve this murder, but she's not going to actively pursue it unless there is something that comes out, which is more evidence than what we've seen to this point," David said. "Chuck Philips has been a strong friend on this. He's done everything that could possibly be asked of him to try and get to the truth. But it's a lot easier for him to get people to talk than it would be for us."

The Notorious B.I.G.'s family, however, said the Times report is disrespectful to Shakur's family. "Both men will have no peace as long as stories such as these continue to be written," their statement read.

Webber indicted on charge of lying to grand jury
By DAVID RUNK
Associated Press Writer
September 9, 2002

DETROIT (AP) -- Sacramento Kings star Chris Webber was indicted Monday on charges he lied to a grand jury about his dealings with a University of Michigan basketball booster more than a decade ago.

Webber, who led Michigan's ``Fab Five'' team to two NCAA title games, was charged with obstruction of justice and making a false declaration before a grand jury, FBI spokeswoman Dawn Clenney said.

Webber's father, Mayce Webber, and his aunt, Charlene Johnson, were indicted on the same charges.

If convicted, each faces up to 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

The indictment contends that Webber, his father and aunt lied to the grand jury and conspired to conceal the cash, checks, clothing, jewelry and other benefits that booster Ed Martin gave the player and his family from 1988-93. All three testified in 2000.

The Kings had no comment on the indictment. Messages seeking comment from the elder Webber and Johnson were not immediately returned.

After Martin's indictment, Webber publicly denied taking significant amounts of money from him and said the government's charges were inaccurate. Martin pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to launder money.

Martin admitted he took gambling money, mixed it with earned income and money given to him from another person, then loaned it to at least four players while they were amateurs.

Martin said he paid $280,000 to Webber; $160,000 to Robert Traylor, now with the Charlotte Hornets; $105,000 to Maurice Taylor, now with the Houston Rockets; and $71,000 to Louis Bullock, who has been playing professionally in Europe.

Traylor and Bullock admitted receiving the money in testimony to the grand jury, their attorney, Steve Fishman, has said.

Former Michigan guard Jalen Rose, now with the Chicago Bulls, also said in May that he took ``pocket money'' from Martin.

Webber, a 29-year-old four-time All-Star, was the first pick in the 1993 NBA draft and was rookie of the year with Golden State. He starred at Washington before being traded to the Kings.

Webber led Sacramento to the Western Conference finals, and the Kings were eliminated in Game 7 by the eventual NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.

PEOPLE IN THE NEWS
Conflict finds 'American Idol'

Famous for just a week and already embroiled in controversy. It was bound to happen to "American Idol" Kelly Clarkson, the former cocktail waitress with the powerful pipes and the new recording contract. Though she's scheduled to sing Wednesday at an event commemorating Sept 11 at Washington's Lincoln Memorial, she thinks it's a bad idea and says she won't do it. The debate arose after critics suggested her appearance might seem a tad self-serving at what should be a somber occasion of national mourning. Clarkson agreed, but the producers of "American Idol" and a charity that's sponsoring the event say Clarkson will go on as scheduled.

The runners-up aren't out

Meanwhile, other "American Idol" contestants are looking for their own moments in the spotlight. Kelly's runner-up, Justin Guarini, announced he will be managed by "Idol" judge Simon Cowell. Cowell also signed Tamyra Gray. Baby-faced R.J. Helton told the New York Post that he was in talks with Christian music labels. Ryan Starr claimed she too was in talks with a label.

N.C. beauty queen case back in court

More evidence, closing arguments to be heard Thursday
September 12, 2002 Posted: 9:53 AM EDT (1353 GMT)

A judge is to hear more evidence and closing arguments Thursday in the effort by Rebekah Revels, left, to be reinstated as Miss North Carolina. Runner-up Misty Clymer speaks with her here in Atlantic City.

WILMINGTON, North Carolina (AP) -- A North Carolina beauty queen is waiting to see if her legal briefs -- not her looks and talent -- are good enough to keep her in the Miss America pageant.

Rebekah Revels' royal reign as one of two dueling Miss North Carolinas expired at midnight Wednesday after U.S. District Court Judge James Fox refused to extend a temporary restraining order.

Revels claims she was unfairly forced to resign in July when a former boyfriend told pageant officials he had two topless snapshots of her. Misty Clymer, 24, then also assumed the title of Miss North Carolina.
Fox said he'll hear more evidence and closing arguments Thursday, then issue a decision from the bench that would determine whether Revels continues to compete.

"It is going to be made in haste," said Fox, who goes on a Canadian vacation next week and will be gone during the September 21 finals of the pageant. "The legal issues that you have presented are complex."

Revels, 24, has asked Fox for an order that would compel the Miss America Organization to recognize her as a contestant. Her request is part of a civil lawsuit against the organization.

Revels has been accepted at the pageant along with Clymer since Friday, when pageant officials received court papers ordering that Revels participate.

Revels also has lawsuits pending against the Miss North Carolina pageant, which was ordered by a state judge to restore her title and contract. And she has sued the boyfriend.

Earlier Wednesday, Revels said she would be disappointed if the judge ruled against her. "But I've been prepared to pack up and leave since I arrived," she said.

George Bauer, interim president of the Miss America Organization, said after the hearing that Revels would not be removed immediately. Her lawyer, Barry Nakell, had expressed concerns that she might be escorted from her hotel room at midnight.

"The Miss America Organization will treat Rebekah Revels with every courtesy and treat her as a VIP guest," Bauer said.

A pageant spokesman said Revels will be permitted to rehearse, eat lunch and participate in a scheduled meeting between contestants and New Jersey schoolchildren. Spokesman Steve McKay would not say if she would still be considered a contestant or be introduced as Miss North Carolina.

In testimony Wednesday, Bauer said it would be very difficult to continue with two contestants from North Carolina. Earlier in the court appearances, Fox also said it wasn't practical to have more than one contestant from a state.

On Tuesday, Revels admitted that she resigned, but said she didn't feel it was voluntary. She said she was given the choice of quitting or being fired.

From the Advocate of Baton Rouge, La. ST says: A coupla of potheads just trying to get $$$ off the Daddy. Boo, low-budget losers.

O'Neal cleared of wrongdoing

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that NBA star Shaquille O'Neal has been cleared of wrongdoing in an internal affairs investigation that stemmed from his accompanying detectives on a drug raid last week.
Sheriff's Chief Criminal Deputy Col. Mike Barnett said O'Neal, an LSU graduate and Los Angeles Lakers center, was permitted to accompany the officers on the raid because he is a commissioned officer from another jurisdiction.

However, a spokeswoman for the Port of Los Angeles Police, said O'Neal has not completed his training.

Barnett said an internal affairs complaint was filed by one of the two people who were issued misdemeanor summonses on Sept. 3 after a search of their trailer at 16352 Old Hammond Highway, Lot 224.

Joshua Brock, 20, and Rikki Bewley, 21, both got summonses for possession of marijuana after the raid, Barnett said. He would not say which of them filed the complaint. WBRZ-TV, citing unnamed sources, claimed that the complaint involved O'Neal putting a man's head in a toilet.

Barnett would not discuss the substance of the complaint. The department does not discuss those complaints, he said.

He said the investigation showed that the complaint was unfounded.

"There is no indication that O'Neal or any of the other officers there" violated any Sheriff's Office policy or law, Barnett said.

He said the investigation, based on multiple interviews with detectives and witnesses "clearly showed" that no one participating in the raid "did anything improper."

He suggested that the person who complained may have had an ulterior motive.

"It is not unusual for people to attempt to shake down sports figures," he said.

O'Neal is in training with the Port of Los Angeles Police and has said he might pursue a career in law enforcement after he leaves basketball. Rachel Campbell, a spokeswoman for the Port of Los Angeles Police, said O'Neal is not a commissioned officer because he has not completed training.

O'Neal's spokesman, Michael Parris, did not return a message seeking comment on the matter Wednesday.

Neither Bewley nor Brock could be reached for comment.

It seems that Jennifer Lopez has ticked off the Illustrious Music of Black Origin (MOBO) because she refuses to let them use any of her songs in their compilation CD, MOBO 2002 saying her music "Is of latin origin not black". A source at MOBO says Lopez has the right to decline but asks " who does she think she is and why did she accept a hip hop award at the MTV awards"? I wonder how P. OOh I saw this coming long time ago with J. Ho oohpss, pardon me. ;) Ms. J.Lo who plays both sides to get what she wants.
If you notice she never attends any Soul Train Awards (not that I blame her for this years ST awards), BET, Essence Awards, Source or any African-American Awards. Now you can catch her all up the Emmy's, MTV, or Grammy's. She was with P. Diddy for the publicity only as far as her album "on the 6" was concerned. When she saw that she could make it musically without him and she long some of the ropes in the music business she cut him like yesterdays garbage. Personally, I don't think he was such a partyer and ladysman as she claims.

The officer had to undergo surgery for a torn ligament. The 26-year-old police officer says she had a four-month affair with Brian and then she told his wife about it. Brian's wife and children live in Virginia. The officer is seeking 11 million dollars in damages. She wants two million from Brian and the rest from the Eagles Organization. She claims they knew about this incident and proceeded to ruin her reputation. Brian's wife should think about staying in Philly during the season. What do you think?

OBITUARIES
LaWanda Page, 81; Actress Played Aunt Esther in 'Sanford and Son'
By MYRNA OLIVER
TIMES STAFF WRITER

September 17 2002

LaWanda Page, comedic character actress best known for her role as the Bible-thumping Aunt Esther in the 1970s television hit "Sanford and Son," has died. She was 81.

Page died Saturday in Centinela Hospital in Los Angeles of complications from diabetes.

"LaWanda lived the life she loved, and loved the life she lived," said Donald Welch, who wrote and directed a comedy gospel musical in which Page starred, "Take It to the Lord ... Or Else." He said Page had often used the phrase as a soothing accolade when close friends died.

Born in Cleveland and reared in St. Louis, Page began her career as a dancer and chorus girl billed as "the Bronze Goddess of Fire." She soon became adept at stand-up comedy.

But her greatest fame began in her 50s, when childhood friend Redd Foxx asked her to join his Norman Lear sitcom adapted from the British series "Steptoe and Son." Page signed on as Fred Sanford's crusty sister-in-law, Esther Anderson, in 1973 and stayed until the series ended with Foxx's departure in 1977.

As proprietor of the run-down Sanford Arms rooming house next door to Sanford's junkyard, Aunt Esther was constantly at odds with Fred over his lifestyle, his business and how he treated his grown son, Lamont, played by Demond Wilson.

Page perfected the persona of a righteous, elderly woman who more than stood up for herself. She reprised the Aunt Esther role in two short-lived "Sanford and Son" spinoffs, "The Sanford Arms" in 1977 and Foxx's own "Sanford" in 1980. She also made guest appearances on Foxx's variety show, "The Redd Foxx Comedy Hour" in 1977.

Again as a mouthy matriarch, Page was a regular in another brief sitcom, "Detective School" in 1979, as one of the unlikely students trying to become a private eye. Similarly, she was Ma, owner of the cops' favorite neighborhood restaurant in the brief 1980 series "B.A.D. Cats" (an acronym for Burglary Auto Detail, Commercial Auto Thefts), starring a little-known Michelle Pfeiffer as a police officer.

Page also appeared in such films as 1982's "Zapped!" and Ice Cube's "Friday" in 1995 and had guest roles on such television series as "Family Matters," "In Living Color" and "Martin."

In recent years, Page also made television commercials, including a well-received one for Atlanta-based Church's Fried Chicken. To tout the chain's honey-buttered biscuits, she was seen humorously milking a "bumblecow" that was adorned with bee's wings and antennae, then deadpanning into the camera, "Hey, it could happen."

Page is survived by her daughter, Clara Johnson, of Los Angeles, and sister, Lynn Hamilton.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Based on this from her website: September 17, 2002-- R&B diva Toni Braxton is pregnant with her second child, according to a report by EURweb columnist Jawn.

This pregnancy marks the second child for Braxton and her husband Keri Lewis of R&B band Mint Condition. In light of the impending little one, though, the singer may be forced to delay the release of her fourth album, More Than A Woman, just as she begins a promotional campaign. At press time, album was still scheduled to be released on November 19.

According to the report, executives at the siren's label may be frustrated with the singer, since the pregnancy announcement came just as the first single, "Hit the Freeway," featuring Loon and Pharrell, was leaked to radio last week.

An Irv Gotti-produced song, "No More Love," was quietly released to urban radio earlier in the summer to little fanfare.

Reports said Braxton was prepared to make a slew of promotional appearances in support of the album, including The Tonight Show, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Late Night with David Letterman, The Wayne Brady Show, NBC's Today Show, a Christmas tree lighting at New York City's Rockefeller Center and others.

Ashanti and Brandy co-wrote two of the songs on More Than A Woman, and Braxton's spouse Lewis reportedly wrote and produced many songs the record. Other producers slated to appear are Rodney Jerkins, Babyface, Mannie Fresh and the Neptunes.

The Grammy award-winning songstress has had a slew of hits, including "Love Shoulda Brought You Home," "Another Sad Love Song," "You're Makin' Me High," "Un-Break My Heart," and "Breathe Again."

Source: BET.com Why do I think her album will be a hot mess!?!?! Ashanti and Brandy co-writing. Please tell me I will not hear darkchild every other beat in her songs. Not only that GO BACK TO BABYFACE!!!

Papa's Got a Brand New Lawsuit
by Josh Grossberg
Sep 18, 2002, 2:00 PM PT
back to story

If a new lawsuit's to be believed, James Brown, aka the hardest working man in show business, has sired the hardest working kids in show business.

Daughters Deanna Brown Thomas and Yamma Brown Lumar are suing their famous father for more than $1 million in back royalties. They say they cowrote 25 tunes with Brown, including his funky 1976 hit "Get Up Offa That Thing." And we almost forgot--according to the suit, the daughters helped compose said music when they were just six and three years old, respectively.

The seemingly prodigy progeny filed their suit in federal court in Atlanta, accusing Papa Brown of withholding royalty payments and seeking restitution for breach of contract, racketeering and negligence.

"There had been some undue delay for the past year in which, behind closed doors, we had fought to resolve this matter on an amicable basis with Mr. Brown's attorney. [But] they had no other recourse but to seek to get their just due monies owed to them," the daughters' attorney, Gregory Reed, tells E! Online. "They just wanted to be made whole."

While a casual fan might wonder how the 33-year-old Thomas, who works for a South Carolina radio station, and the 29-year-old Lumar, a doctor in Texas, might actually have cowritten the songs at such a tender age, Reed emphasizes that their names have been on the copyright since day one, entitling them to their fare share of the royalties.

"As a copyright owner, it's a piece of property. It doesn't matter how old you are," added Reed. "Their name shows up on the day of the selling of the copyrights, their name appears consistently from the beginning."

According to the suit, the bad blood in the Brown brood stems from his 1998 stint in a psychiatric hospital. The daughters--worried about his deteriorating condition--had daddy forcibly placed in the facility to be treated for an addiction to painkillers.

Following his discharge, Brown "vowed to the media that his daughters will never get a dime from him," court papers state. "James Brown has kept his word."

Reed says that Brown's attorney, Leon Friedman, sent a letter to the daughters a year ago offering $66,000--far from the $200,000 the two offspring were seeking for penning such tunes as "Night Train," "Body Heat" and "In the Georgia Disco."

At one point, Reed says, Brown also offered $198,000 to Thomas and Lumar in exchange for them giving up their share of the copyright, but they turned him down.

The lawsuit notes that Brown has been feeling good enough to pay his ex-wife, Diedre Jenkins, who also owns a stake in the copyright, but when it comes to his own kids, it's strictly a man's world.

But, adds Reed, perhaps the good news is that both father and daughters have been able to separate business from family.

"It's been cordial. They speak all the time. It's just that he indicated it was going to be taken care, but it's been more than a year," the lawyer says.

Brown's attorney, meanwhile, had no comment on the lawsuit.

Is James Brown just a shady man...he's been blamed for his deceased wife's dead. Word on the street was that she died during plastic surgery and that she was getting the surgery for James or to look better for him.
Then he had sexual harassment lawsuits and then he had a radio station that got burnt down. The insurance didn't want to pay him; they thought it was fraudulent.

THe only reason his daughters are listed as writers on those songs in the first place is so that his estate could get an extra fifty or so years of copyright on his songs. But being as how I assume he thought that THEY would be representing his estate, it doesn't seem like such a bad thing to do.

For them to claim they ACTUALLY had input.... come on.....

(Sep. 13, 2002) *We've got the J. Lo-down. Rumors have spread due to a UK newspaper report, that the star refused to let the Music of Black Origin Awards use her music on their MOBO 2002 soundtrack (though the star received nominations from the organization) because she doesn't consider her music to be of "black origin." Say what?
The report claims that Lopez wrote a letter refusing to let any of her songs be on the album, does not want anything to do with the collection, and that her music heritage is Latin, not Black.

But Lopez's manager Benny Medina says, "Hey, what's new in the universe of British tabloid press?" Medina says the story is false.

"There is no letter that exists that responded in such a way, and it just seems to make no sense at all. She is so much a fan of both Black hip-hop music, artist, producers and the like, and 90% of the writers and producers on her album are contrary to that statement -- not Latinos, but actually Blacks."

In fact, Medina says the label didn't know anything about the compilation album.

"Not only has she never said anything disparaging about Black music, she was never even asked officially to participate in this compilation. Sony, Benny Medina, Handprint Entertainment, and Jennifer Lopez confirm that," he said.

IT'S ALL A STUNT!! she needs to do better than what she is right now. She is doing all of this just to get our attention, which she is definitely doing. I never knew that she was pregnant, but the again, I learn something new everyday. As for Chris, I don't think that it was about love (but them again, who am I to say?) I think that all of this is about publicity and career moves. He is probably living swell now. I wonder what the terms of the divorce were.

The funny thing is that I don't even think that she cares that everyone thinks she's a tramp. And she called herself trying to call P. Diddy out on "Ain't that Funny?" I know what's funny--the fact that she has been around more than a church collection plate.

No one actually complained about the Mike Tyson commercial, but network executives got a bunch of calls from the media; a spokesman said that made the network feel that "perhaps Mike Tyson's use in this manner was more provocative than they anticipated." What's so controversial about the idea of Mike Tyson's watching somebody's kid? Well, two years ago, Tyson told Lennox Lewis "I want to eat your children." Then, earlier this year, Tyson told a group of reporters that he wished they had children so that, quote: "I could kick them in the f---ing head or stomp on their testicles so you could feel my pain because that's the pain I have waking up every day."

He pleaded guilty to use of an unauthorized device in U.S. District Court. Lomax used Will's Social Security number and opened fourteen credit card accounts in several stores in the Pittsburgh area. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a 250 thousand dollar fine. Lomax was own probation after serving time for charging 81 thousand dollars in credit card bills under the name of San Antonio Spurs basketball star STEVE SMITH.

Record Execs at Arista Records were not too pleased with Toni Braxton's baby news because now her lp in going to be delayed until next year.

Guess who's taking a break? Singer Alicia Keys is taking a much needed break. The five time Grammy Award Winner is taking a 22 month break after going non stop for the past two years. Look for a followup to her smash songs in A Minor in late 2003.

Usher says it's love! After months of denying his feelings for Chili of TLC, Usher and Chili now admit they are lovers and in love. Usher would always say he and Chili were just friends. Chili is nine years older than Usher.

Def Jam Records is set to launch their Classic Artists division with new releases scheduled for Anita Baker, Jefferey Osborne, Stephanie Mills and Barry White. The new division should launch next year. Def Jam is known for their Ole School Rap/R&B Artists like Public Enemy, Alyson Williams and Oran Juice Jones. Now speaking of Stephanie Mills, her project is due out next year she is working on it now, she's also a mom. Stephanie has a 19 month old son.

Dondre used to guest star on the UPN show Girlfriends and he has also had roles on the TV Show The Brothers and years ago he starred on All My Children. This movie marks Denzel's directorial debut and it opens in theatres in December.

Singer Billy Preston is being sued by a woman who helped saved his life last spring. Earlier this year Billy was dying and needed a kidney Transplant well he found a donor and the woman gave up her kidney because Billy promised to pay her medical bills. Well Billy didn't keep his word and now she is suing him. The woman who gave up her kidney says she is having medical problems and she can't work or pay her bills.

What's up with comedienne Wayne Brady? Wayne's daytime variety show airs weekdays at 10am on 6 ABC. This weekend Wayne made history as the first African-American Male to host the Miss America Pageant. I hear Wayne has a huge ego. He recently demanded a 36 inch TV for his dressing and he pulled out some measuring tape to make sure it was 36 inches. I wanted to ask Wayne about this but he won't return my calls for an interview.

Whitney Houston is being sued by her Dad. 81 year old John Houston says his daughter stiffed his entertainment company. John says he was the one who got her a 100 million dollar recording contract with Arista. John also says he was the one who got her out of her Hawaiian drug mess. John can't believe his daughter and her behavior so now he's suing her. Whitney's new CD Just Whitney arrives in stores on Nov 5th.

People are whispering about Singer Rick James. I hear the singer is sick and has cancer.

There is a new tell all book coming out about Halle Berry. The tell all biography will detail the Oscar Winner's life including her troubled love life and her battle with diabetes. The book is due out in November the same time she hits the big screen as the next Bond Girl in the James Bond Movie, Die Another Day. In December, Halle will be gracing the cover of Vogue Magazine.

TLC's new CD, Quickie, arrives in stores on Nov. 12th.

After her role as Foxy Cleopatra in the latest Austin Powers Movie, Beyonce has started work on another film. Beyonce will be starring in the movie Fighting Temptations with Cuba Gooding Jr, Faith Evans, Angie Stone and Steve Harvey. Filming is going on in Atlanta.

SNOOP DOGG says Death Row Records CEO SUGE KNIGHT took advantage of him for years and he rips him on his upcoming album "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss" calling Suge "the devil." He also disses KURUPT and XZIBIT on the CD. The album will be released November 26th and features JAY-Z, REDMAN, NATE DOGG, THE NEPTUNES, and DJ PREMIER from GANG STARR. Snoop is now on the charts with the album "Snoop Dogg Presents…Doggy Style Allstars, Welcome To That House Volume One" which is number seventeen this week.
 Uh-oh, y'all. We might be ready to lose Snoop too!

Redman and Method Man will star in an untitled comedy about the Army. The movie will be produced by Paramount Pictures and MTV Films. Redman's manager says the plot will involve the two rappers joining the military and getting sent on a special mission. Dustin Lee Abraham, who penned Red and Meth's college comedy "How High," will write the script for this flick. But Redman and Method Man have two more movies to make before the Army picture. They'll play up-and-coming rappers in "Ghetto, Inc." and – in a major twist of irony -- they'll appear as undercover DEA agents in another movie that's still being written.

The next K-Ci & JoJo album, titled "Emotional," will be released by
MCA Records on November 26th. The first single, a Rodney Jerkins-produced joint called "It's Me," is slated to hit radio on October 7th. The second single "This Very Moment" will appear on the soundtrack for the LL Cool J / Gabrielle Union movie "Deliver Us From Eva," which will hit theaters on February 2003.

Janet Jackson's gonna help `N Sync lead singer Justin Timberlake shed his squeaky-clean image. Justin recruited Janet to record a
seductive duet called "(And She Said) Take Me Now" for his upcoming solo album. Justin produced the vocal track for the song and he raved that Janet's voice "sounds like feather" and "an angel." But from what we hear, Janet's performance on the song sounds more lustful than angelic! Justin Timberlake's solo album, "Justified," will come out on November 12. In addition to Janet, the record features guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Prince, Missy Elliott, the late Aaliyah and even Michael Jackson.

You never really believed that Britney Spears was a virgin, did you? Well, Britney's ex, Justin Timberlake, `fessed up to what we all suspected during an interview Tuesday on New York's Hot 97. Morning show host Star promised to spin Justin's new single, "Like I Love You," 30 times a week if Justin would tell if he and Britney had ever did the do. Justin tried to dodge the question for a while, but he finally said, "I did it. I'm dirty. I'm in so much damn trouble, man. I'm gonna get calls from my mother!"

BET and the Oxygen network will share production costs and broadcast rights to a new animated series called "Hey, Monie." The cartoon is about the fun and drama experienced by an unmarried black professional woman named Simone. In addition being about a black woman, "Hey, Monie" reportedly has several women on its production staff. The show will premier on both Oxygen and BET next Spring.

BET might be getting some direct competition soon. Alfred Liggins, the son and business partner of Radio One boss Cathy Hughes, reportedly has investors lined up for a new, black-oriented TV network.

Singer Barry White undergoing dialysis, awaits kidney
Thursday, September 26, 2002 Posted: 1:31 AM EDT (0531 GMT)

White had suffered kidney failure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://i.cnn.net/cnn/2002/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/26/barry.white.reut/story.white.ap.jpg

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Soul singer Barry White, battling kidney failure brought on by years of high blood pressure, is undergoing dialysis and is hoping to receive a kidney transplant, his record label said Wednesday.

At the request of White's family, no details about his condition were disclosed, and it was not revealed whether he was hospitalized or living at home while receiving treatment on an out-patient basis.

"Doctors confirm that Barry White has a history of hypertension (high blood pressure), which has led to a decline of kidney function," according to a statement from Island Def Jam Music Group. "He has started a course of maintenance dialysis therapy. Once stabilized, he will be a candidate for a kidney transplant."

A spokeswoman at the label said White had suffered kidney failure.

The hefty 58-year-old performer, known for his rich bass vocals and musical love-maestro persona, has provided "the mood" for countless candlelight dinners and late-night trysts with such ballads as "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe," and "You're the First, the Last, My Everything."

He won the first two Grammys of his 40-year career 2 1/2 years ago for the album "Staying Power."

Hopefully, after he stabilized, they will be able to find a kidney that will match. Organ donations among the AA community are low.

Now that's just nasty on too many levels http://smilies.uniquehardware.co.uk/cwm/3dlil/errr.gif.

Moving on......

Lamman Rucker, the tall-dark-and-handsome actor who plays attorney T. Marshall Travers on the Emmy-award-winning soap opera, "As The World Turns," is set to appear on a new TV series called, "A Dating Story." The new show, which premiers tonight on TLC, will be hooking him up on a blind date with singer Chanelle Haynes from the gospel group Trin-I-tee 5:7. During an interview yesterday with the BET Radio Network, Lamman said that he was asked to be on the show because things didn't work out with someone else. He explained, "Paul Taylor, who is also on [`As The World Turns']—he plays the character Isaac—was originally slated to be the guy from our show that was supposed to be on the date with Chanelle, but that didn't work out… I think there ended up being scheduling conflicts." Lamman says he was happy that it ended up being him. Lamman and Chanelle's "Dating Story" begins with separate interviews, and then the camera pals around them as they individually prepare for their date and finally acts as a voyeur to their encounter. For the results, watch TLC tonight for the premiere of "A Dating Story."

The "Page Six" section of the "New York Post" reports that rap mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs will most likely fly a bunch of his friends to an exotic location for his 33rd birthday on November 4th. According to the paper, Diddy is planning to blow $1.5 million to fly 100 of his closest friends to Punta Canta in the Dominican Republic where he'll host a bash at Oscar de la Renta's swanky villa. However, Combs' reps told the Post that, although he'll most likely have a party out of town, details have yet to be decided.

The "New York Post" reports that there was a sighting of Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles taking golf lessons together in the Bahamas.

Jennifer Lopez will reportedly play a hot bisexual babe on HBO's "Sex and the City." According to the Internet Movie Database web site, J.Lo will play, quote, a slut who seduces Kim Cattrall's character [Samantha] only to wind up stealing her boyfriend."

Meanwhile, J.Lo has helped pump up those rumors about her being engaged to Ben Affleck. During a radio interview last week (with Wendy Williams of New York's WBLS), J.Lo said she could neither "confirm nor deny" reports that she and Affleck are heading toward the altar. And what about the National Enquirer story that said Lopez started dating Affleck while she was still married to Cris Judd? (Cris Judd's dad gave that story to the Enquirer.) J.Lo says that's completely untrue because she's "a very faithful person" who "believes in loyalty. Meanwhile, filmmaker Joel Schumacher hopes to direct Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith in a remake of "A Star Is Born." Will told TV Guide back in July that he was down for the idea.

TLC's fourth album, "3D," will include a special tribute to the late
Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes (who died in an automobile accident in Honduras in April). The new TLC album (which is due out on November 12 on Arista Records) features a joint called "Dirty" (written and produced by Missy Elliott and Timbaland) which features T-Boz and Chilli saying: the remaining members of TLC take time to "Left Eye would want us to break it down like this… Left Eye gets a moment of silence." Another song, called "Turntable," sounds like T-Boz and Chilli's way of dealing with the sadness of Left Eye's death. The Rodney Jerkins-produced jam doesn't mention Left Eye by name, but the lyrics talk about overcoming a tragedy: "You had your ups and downs/It happened for a reason/'Cause after there was showers/There
will come a change of seasons/So please don't give up now/'Cause sun shines through the clouds/It's gonna be all right." Then, the chorus says: "Don't ask yourself why/Just look to the sky/Believe it/So you'll see the other side."

Bryant's Wife Expecting First Child
Mon Sep 30, 8:23 PM ET

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Kobe Bryant, a three-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, is going to be a first-time father.
Bryant said Monday his wife, Vanessa, is expecting a daughter in February.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Bryant said, grinning.
Bryant said the couple is mulling names.
"We change our mind like every other day," he said. "We're just taking our time with it."
The couple married in April 2001.
Teammate Shaquille O'Neal, the unmarried father of five children, has volunteered to be a godparent, but Bryant said he has family members who will fill that role.
"Experience is the best teacher," O'Neal said. "The only lesson it's probably going to teach him is the same lesson it taught me: Don't bring your stresses home. Because the kids see that, the wife sees that, so you have to leave the stresses of the job here."

Posthumous Aaliyah CD Planned

by Julie Keller
Oct 7, 2002, 12:15 PM PT

Aaliyah is gone, but her music will live on.

A CD featuring several previously unreleased tracks from the late R&B star--killed in an August 2001 plane crash--is set for release in November. The currently untitled album from Blackground Records and Universal will compile the aforementioned new tunes, as well as old hits and remixes of other songs in her catalog.

a d v e r t i s e m e n t

Blackground says the new songs, which Aaliyah recorded just prior to her death, are a blend of up-tempo numbers and soul-wrenching ballads.

Though it has been more than a year since her death, she still has devoted fans who say they'll honor her memory by purchasing her new disc. "Aaliyah is the one and only princess of hip hop and R&B. Let's keep her name alive," pleads one fan on a VH1 message board.

The album is the latest Aaliyah-related project to surface after her death. Warner Bros. released the vampire flick The Queen of Damned, with Aaliyah in the title role, in February to mediocre box office. She also received posthumous musical nods for her self-titled 2001 release, including nominations in top categories in the 2002 Grammy and Soul Train Awards.

TUNE-IN ALERT!

Aaliyah: The E! True Hollywood Story

An in-depth look at her life and tragic death, featuring exclusive footage and new interviews.

Airs October 23

The 22-year-old singer and her crew were killed August 25, 2001, when their twin-engine Cessna crashed in the Bahamas shortly after takeoff. Since then, a steady stream of controversy has swirled around the incident.

Toxicology tests released in July determined that the pilot of the plane had cocaine and alcohol in his system at the time of the crash. He was also not authorized to fly the Cessna and had been recently convicted of drug possession and theft. The plane itself was also overloaded when it lifted off from Marsh Harbour Airport on Abaco Island. There's also an ongoing criminal investigation targeting the plane's owner.

Meanwhile, families of the deceased have launched several wrongful death suits over the crash and the Bahamian funeral home that prepared Aaliyah's body is considering legal action against Virgin Records for an unpaid bill.

Braxton Accuses Duo of Swiping Song
Thu Oct 10,10:36 AM ET

NEW YORK (AP) - Toni Braxton (news) says one of her songs was stolen by Jay-Z and Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles.

Braxton says a few months ago, she laid down tracks for "Me and My Boyfriend" and was going to include the tune in her new CD, due out next month. But a rep for her label says she let her friend, Def Jam Records chief Kevin Liles, get a sneak preview of the song, which also includes a sample from Tupac Shakur's song "Me And My Girlfriend."

Braxton says Jay-Z and Knowles heard the song and used part of the hook and melody for their duet, "Bonnie and Clyde." The publicist says Braxton sees what happened with the song as "unethical."

In an interview on a New York radio station, Braxton was even more forthright with her feelings, saying Knowles and Jay-Z are taking money out of her kids' college funds. Braxton is currently expecting her second child, with her husband, Keri Lewis of Mint Condition.

Jay-Z's camp is defending the rapper against Braxton's allegations. Kayne West, who produced the duet, tells MTV he "had no idea" that Braxton was planning to re-do the song. As for the idea that someone at Def Jam got wind of the idea and beat her to the punch, West says "she can't act like ain't nobody ever heard 'Me and My Girlfriend."

West says he could understand Braxton's beef if it was an original song, but notes that people hear Tupac's song all the time. "It's just coincidence. I came up with the idea while listening to Shakur's music."

I was 10 years old when Get Christie Love was on ABC-TV. Christie Love was a cleaned-up version of Cleopatra Jones and Foxy Brown.

From abc7.com:
Blaze Kills Actress

LOS ANGELES — Actress Teresa Graves, who appeared regularly on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" and starred in the television series "Get Christie Love," died early Thursday after a fire raced through her Hyde Park home, authorities said.

Graves, 54, was found unconscious in a rear bedroom by firefighters, said police Sgt. Henry Miller. She was taken to an area hospital where she died.

The blaze began shortly before 12:30 a.m. at Graves' 1,600-square-foot home, city fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said. When firefighters arrived they found the rear part of the home engulfed in flames.

The blaze appeared to have started in a 200-square-foot enclosed patio that was added on to the original home, Humphrey said. Smoke alarms inside the home were functional, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Graves started her career as a singer with the Doodletown Pipers. She later turned to acting, appearing on "Laugh-In" in 1969 and 1970.

She also played supporting roles in several films during the 1970s, including "Black Eye," "That Man Bolt" and "Vampira."

She landed a leading spot in the TV series "Get Christie Love," which ran from September 1974 to July 1975. She left acting in the mid-1970s in favor of religion, according to Sandra Brennan of All Movie Guide.

Soror, I added the picture.

3-genre threat Murphy signs with DreamWorks
Thu Oct 10, 2:20 AM ET

By Zorianna Kit and Chris Gardner

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Following a successful collaboration on the blockbuster feature "Shrek," for which a sequel is due out in the summer, the film's co-star Eddie Murphy (news) has inked a two-year, first-look production deal with DreamWorks Pictures.

The deal cements a long-standing relationship between the star and studio topper Jeffrey Katzenberg that goes back 20 years to when Katzenberg was an executive at Paramount and Murphy was a rising comedian making his big-screen debut in the studio's 1982 feature film "48 HRS." Their relationship continued on such Paramount features as "Trading Places" and "Beverly Hills Cop" before Katzenberg left to join the Walt Disney Co. in 1984.

Murphy, who hasn't formally had a production deal with any studio, has enjoyed a close relationship with Imagine Entertainment, for whom he has made such films as "The Nutty Professor" and its sequel. And he has had successful ties with DreamWorks on the studio's hit CGI family film "Shrek" and its sequel.

"Eddie works in not one but three genres: family, action-comedy and irreverent comedy," DreamWorks production head Michael De Luca said. "He has a wealth of ideas that have yet to be exploited, and between him and our writers and director relationships, we can come up with great projects."

Murphy, repped by WMA, is in production on Revolution Studios' "Daddy Day Care." He next stars in Columbia Pictures' "I Spy."

In addition to Murphy, DreamWorks has signed "In the Bedroom" writer-director Todd Field to a two-year deal. Details of the deal -- which does include overhead -- are being kept under wraps.

After bowing at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival (news - web sites), "Bedroom" went on to be a critical favorite, nominated for a multitude of awards this year, including five Oscar noms. More recently, Field received the American Film Institute (news - web sites)'s 12th annual Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal at the Tom Hanks (news) life achievement award fete.

Field, who has yet to direct a follow-up to "Bedroom," declined comment on the deal. The writer-director, repped by Endeavor, began his career as an actor playing a Swedish goalie in the Canadian/French co-production "He Shoots, He Scores." His more recent credits include "Eyes Wide Shut," "Walking and Talking" and "Twister."

SUING SINGER NOT ‘GHETTO ENOUGH'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

October 9, 2002 -- Naturi Naughton, a former member of the platinum-selling teen group 3LW, claims she was forced out of the R&B trio because she was not "ghetto enough."
Naughton, a native of East Orange, N.J., charged that the "purported" manager of the group, Michelle Williams, said Naughton, 18, "did not present the appropriate ‘project girl image,' " and berated her as "Ms. Two Parent Household."

The lawsuit was filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Newark against group members Kiely Williams, 16, of Annandale, N.J., and Adrienne Bailon, 18, of New York.

Also sued was Michelle Williams, who is Kiely's sister and another sister, Tse Williams, owner of Nine Lives Entertainment of Newark; Big Cat Management of New York, and Sony Music.

Messages seeking comment from a publicist and Big Cat Management were not immediately returned.

Coolidge courts Berry's 'Girl' for director position

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Director Martha Coolidge is near a deal to board the Halle Berry starrer "Brown Eyed Girl" for MGM and studio-based Trilogy Entertainment.

Coolidge is in final negotiations to develop and direct the project, described as a character piece about the ups and downs in love and life of a contemporary woman. Garry Williams penned the screenplay and is working on a rewrite with Coolidge, sources said.

The project reteams the duo, who worked together on HBO's "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge," a telefilm that landed Berry a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her work as Dandridge, the first black woman to earn a best actress Oscar nomination.

Berry is producing "Girl" with her manager Vincent Cirrincione along with Trilogy toppers Pen Densham and John Watson. Guy McElwaine will also produce. At the studio, the project is being shepherded by executive vp production Elizabeth Ingold.

"Girl" is one of two projects Berry has in development with MGM -- the other being a remake of 1974's "Foxy Brown" -- after her work in the studio's upcoming James Bond flick, "Die Another Day."

The project does not yet have a start date, so it's unclear when it would fit into Berry's schedule. She is also on board to star in "The Guide" for Paramount Pictures and producer Mark Gordon. Lee Tamahori just signed on to direct that project, which is due to begin lensing early next year (HR 10/4).

New Edition May Sign With Puffy's Bad Boy Label
Posted by MusicMan on Thursday, October 10 @ 01:14:35 EDT

MTV News reports New Edition is in talks with Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs' Bad Boy Records label to sign a deal. Johnny Gill says that Diddy will in fact be contributing tracks to the group's 20th anniversary LP, which is slated for release next year. "We're going to be working with Puffy on the album," Gill revealed. "He's helping get the album together. He just came out to several of the shows. He's such a big fan. I looked around and saw him at a few shows. He said, 'I saw you guys and, excuse my expression, but y'all got me acting like a bitch. I'm here to take notes'."

There are more details coming out about the 3LW lawsuit — including allegations of pimping one of its members.

Naturi Naughton is suing the other two members of the R&B group, Kiely Williams and Adrienne Bailon, as well its management, which includes two of Williams' sisters, Michelle and Tse. Naughton says she was forced out of the group.

Naughton claims she was expected to do more than just sing and dance for the group; she says she was being urged to get into a romantic relationship with a member of the rap group St. Lunatics so the group would ask 3LW to tour with them.

Naughton says in her suit she went to a meeting with a member of the St. Lunatics. When she returned, she told the three Williams sisters and Bailon she did not get intimate with the group member. Michelle Williams (news) berated her for not getting her "mack game up," according to the suit.

Naughton says she got the impression she needed to use sex or intimacy to get 3LW a place on the Nellyville tour with St. Lunatics, which didn't happen. Naughton says Michelle Williams harassed her more because she failed to "close the deal."

Williams and Bailon say Naughton walked out on them. There's been no immediate response to the lawsuit by the defendants in the case.

Well, I don't know if this is all true or not...but it's in British tabloids....

(you can check out a pic of this Alicia chick here...http://www.theladsmag.co.uk/ice/aug02/)

ALICIA: I'M PREGNANT AND PUFF'S THE DADDY

CELEBRITY man-eater Alicia Douvall is pregnant - after a night of passion with US rap star P Diddy.

The posh model with 32EE breasts  told The People how he plied her with exotic cocktails while whispering his "secret sexual fantasies" in her ear.

Then the multi-millionaire producer - who found fame as Puff Daddy - made "amazing" love to her over a mixing desk at his recording studio.

Days later, former public schoolgirl Alicia left a shock message on P Diddy's mobile phone telling him he was going to be a dad.

And last night she told The People how she hoped rap music's bad boy would now MARRY her. She said: "There's no way it could be anyone else but Puffy's baby and I know he'll make a great father to our child.

"I've tried to reach him to tell him the good news but have only been able to leave a message on his mobile."

Alicia - who has bedded a string of celebrities including singer Mick Hucknall, footballer Dwight Yorke and pop guru Simon Cowel - met up with P Diddy during his mammoth week-long 32nd birthday celebrations in London last month.

After sipping cocktails in the trendy Buddha Bar, they headed for the members-only Mayfair club in the West End.

Alicia said: "Puffy confessed that big boobs were his biggest turn-on.

"Then he really turned me on whispering what he wanted to do to me as we were in each others' arms - so to hot things up I told him of my huge sexual apetite and how I love to have sex all night!

"I could tell he was really turned on by my fantasy of having champagne poured over every inch of my body - and him LICKING it off.

"It got very heated as we made each other wild by talking about sex. He had a thing about water and I suggested making love in the shower.

"We had an amazing night making love. The strange thing was, I never thought I'd end up pregnant. I was so drunk and carried away by the fact I was with P Diddy that I didn't even consider contraception.

"He really flattered me saying that he was the lucky one to be with me and that I was the beautiful, special one."

Alicia already has a six-year-old daughter Georgia, from a previous relationship. She lives with her grandparents at their large house in Surrey and Alicia visits every week.

"Since I found out on Friday I am pregnant I can't stop thinking about being a mum again," said Alicia. "I keep looking at babies in prams and thinking what our child will look like. He or she will be gorgeous. I'll be a great mum and I hope Puffy will want to be as involved as possible."

P Diddy - real name Sean Combs - was unavailable for comment last night when Alicia's claims were put to his spokesman.

If this is true, they are both some really stupid people. I see celebrities still don't believe that there is stuff out there that will kill you know a days. You can't just go to the doctor and get a shot to clear it up.

Another thing, how can this chick say that she can't wait to be a "mum" again. Her daughter lives with the grandparents and she visits every week.....oh give me a break.

JENNIFER LOPEZ will be crowned the "Most Influential Artist Of The Year" tonight at the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards in New York City.   The show will be broadcast live at 9 P.M. from Radio City Music Hall. J. Lo's ex, P. DIDDY, will be among the stars attending along with EVE, LL COOL J, TYRA BANKS, VENUS & SERENA WILLIAMS, and OPRAH WINFREY. Jennifer will release her third album called "This Is Me…Then" on November 26th, and her next movie "Made In Manhattan" will open just in time for Christmas.

According to New York Post gossip writer Cindy Adams, Jennifer Lopez didn't like standing next to Alicia Keys for the all-star cover of Vanity Fair's new music issue. We don't know what the beef is supposed to be, but rumor has it that J.Lo has no love for the Grammy-winning Keys.

Get ready for "Barbershop" part two! MGM studios has signed producers Robert Teitel and George Tillman Jr. and director Tim Story to create a sequel to the hit hair-cutting comedy. MGM is still in talks with Ice Cube. It's no surprise that MGM wants to do a "Barbershop 2." The original movie only cost $12 million to produced and it has generated $65 million in ticket sales! "Barbershop" was one of the few bona fide hits for MGM this year.

Last week (maybe even longer ago) Snoop Dogg announced that he'd stopped smoking weed. Now it looks like the Doggfather might have stopped drinking as well! When the management of the NV club in New York's SoHo district heard that Snoop was going to be rollin' through the other night, they went out and bought a bunch Veuve Clicquot, which is one of the rapper's preferred libations. But when Snoop got to the club he ordered… water!

A lot of recording stars can't wait to get into the movies. But rap star Cam'ron isn't really trippin' off Hollywood. Cam has a role in the movie "Paid In Full" (which opens next Friday, October 25) but he's not breaking his neck to find another role: "I'm not going to sit here and take a part that I'm don't feel comfortable doing, you know what I mean, 'cause I love to do music regardless, you know what I mean? I got a long career getting ready to come ahead of me in music, but if a movie comes along and I feel comfortable with the character, then sure I'll do it, but I'm not going chasing it. I'm not going chasing any parts or anything."

*EDITED TO ADD .... I just heard on the radio that Kelly (Destiny's Child) and Nas are an item. Ok, who cares about that, right? But that news reminded me that I meant to post this a while ago, but did anyone else see in the latest Ebony that Tweet is supposed to be dating Maxwell?!? See, to me, that's the most unlikely couple ever.

From Jawn's Juice

You Heard It Here First: Sources confirm that rapper Nas and soul-rock singer Kelis are definitely an item. Apparently, the two artists have been dating for several months now. Reports that Kelis was dating Sean “P. Diddy” Combs are false, despite the fact that photos of the two shopping in Europe popped up on the internet. Insiders say that the hip-hop mogul has been trying to convince Kelis, who is signed to The Neptunes’ Star Trek Entertainment label through Arista Records, to join the roster of artists under his Bad Boy Management Company. Lil’ Kim was a client at Puffy’s management company as well, but as I reported in last week’s column, she felt she “was doing way more for him than he was doing for [her],” according to the latest edition of The Source.

KELIS  I thought someone posted that it was Kelli from DC?

Speaking Of Couples: All I am going to say is that a very reliable source tells me that Beyonce and Jay-Z are engaged. I ain’t confirming nor denying if I believe it, but either way you heard it here first. Nope, I didn’t call any publicists. Nope, I don’t plan on it. All I’m saying is, they’re telling me that they are engaged!

 Please don't let ANY chil'rens look like they daddy!!

More “American Idol” News: They can’t announce it yet, but I sure can. My favorite “American Idol” contestant Tamyra Gray has inked a deal with RCA Records! RCA is also home to “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson. Both artists are featured on the RCA release, "American Idol: Greatest Moments," which is in stores now. It was also reported last week that “Idol” runner-up Justin Guarini has also inked a deal with RCA. In other news, as I reported two weeks ago, Tamyra has secured her multi-episode role on the Fox series “Boston Public.” Gray will make her acting debut on the David E. Kelley show during February 2003 sweeps. For four episodes, she'll portray an as-yet-unnamed student. "She gave a very impressive audition and while it's possible her character will sing, we are most interested in helping to launch her as a dramatic actress," said "Boston Public" Executive Producer Jason Katims in a prepared statement.

YEAH TAMYRA!!!!! :D true talent has prevailed!!!!!! :p SINGING AND ACTING??? DON'T HURT 'EM!!!!

Persia White who plays "Lynn" on Girlfriends, has left the show to persue her Christian CD. She was at a church in Houston on Sunday promoting the CD and said she did not agree with how the character Lynn was portrayed. I'm not sure if she completed the seaon for this year or not.

Jay Z and Beyonce' are filming their video in Mexico this weekend. They are rumored to be engaged as well. Toni Braxton are blaming them for stealing her song. This morning the DJ on the radio mixed both versions of the song together. Both songs sound great.

Halle started choking on fruit while on set for a nude scene I believe for the Bond Movie. The leading guy (I forgot his name), started to pat her back and shake her but that did not help. He felt awkward about putting his arms around her because they were both nude. Luckily she spat out the fruit.

The New York Post reports Bobby Brown was solo and out of control Monday night during Usher's birthday party at the Highlands club in Los Angeles. Hitting the show without wife Whitney Houston, a source says Brown "stumbled down the stairs" and approached him. "Bobby got down on his hands and knees and started bowing to Usher. Usher invited him on stage and told the crowd, 'Here's my man Bobby Brown, the original king of R&B!' and they hugged." But after the hug, Brown "went all Jekyl & Hyde" on Usher and started screaming, "You need to respect me! You took my spot! You are taking away my shine! I should be on stage, not you!" A shocked Usher had to call security to escort Brown away when Houston's hubby tried to fight him on stage.

Two thumbs up for Will and SOROR Jada...doing the damn thang...showing how awesome and sustaining black love can be. I saw the video today, and I must say that I absolutely love Will and Jada as a couple. Probably since they're my age, I relate well to the message. New Edition reunite without Bobby Brown

NEW YORK (AP) -- New Edition won't have to cool it now -- they've signed a new recording contract.

The former teen group has been signed to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records. They're set to deliver a new disc by next spring, the same year they'll celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their first album.

However, Bobby Brown, one of the group's most famous members, won't be part of the reunion. Instead, the disc will feature Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe and Johnny Gill, who replaced Brown when he left in 1987.

"New Edition carved the path for what we know to be R&B today," Combs said Monday. "I look forward to working with all the members closely on their new album and reintroducing the world to a brand-new New Edition."

"Cool It Now," "Candy Girl" and "If It Isn't Love" were among New Edition's biggest hits in the 1980s.

The quintet performed together on a reunion tour this year.

Chaka Khan slams pop
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- Ain't nobody does it better than Chaka Khan, some R&B music lovers might say.

But the Grammy-winning singer insists there are a handful of new-generation vocalists who come real close -- though the music scene today is swamped by flavorless tunes and shallow talent, she says. "Sometimes I wonder what business this is I'm in today -- is it a circus, a fashion show or what?" Khan told a news conference Wednesday during a visit to this Southeast Asian country.

"It's like anybody who has a look can be a singer or entertainer now. The talent is almost not necessary anymore," she said. "I think a lot of people are out there making videos, singing and making a lot of money based on nothing but a cute shape and a pretty face."

Khan, who came to prominence as the vocalist for the 1970s soul-funk group Rufus and had a string of solo hits in the 1980s such as "Ain't Nobody," "I'm Every Woman" and "I Feel For You," said many modern songwriters seem to have "stunted imaginations" and sample tiredly from classic R&B riffs without mixing in fresh inspiration.

Ex-'Road Rules' Cast Member Killed In Crash
10.21.2002 6:17 PM EDT

Michelle Parma

Michelle Parma, the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader who graced the third season of "Road Rules," was killed Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision. She was 27.

Parma was traveling from Dallas to Houston on Interstate 45 with her cousin Mandie Parma, 28, who was also killed in the crash. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Austin Hodges, 16, lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median, hitting the Parmas' Jeep head on. After the Parmas' vehicle was hit, it rotated and was struck by another northbound vehicle, a Kia driven by Barbara Kroll, 30.

Hodges and Kroll reported no serious injuries, while Michelle and Mandie Parma, who were both wearing seatbelts, died at the scene, according to the office of Judge John Kleimann, who pronounced them. Their bodies were taken to Cashner Funeral Home.

Parma appeared in the Europe cast of "Road Rules" in 1996. Along with her castmates Chris, Antoine, Patrice and Belou, she traveled Europe for 10 weeks by Winnebago, train and boat. She ran with the bulls in Spain, put together a fireworks show to celebrate Bastille Day in France and nursed two sick seals back to health and set them free in Amsterdam.

After "Road Rules," Parma, who had studied drama and communications at the University of North Texas, moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She later moved back to Texas to become a flight attendant for Southwest. Parma most recently appeared on the Road Rules "Extreme Challenge" last year.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Unity Church of Dallas. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made to the United Network for Organ Sharing: 1100 Boulders Parkway, Suite 500, Box 13770, Richmond, VA 23225-8770. Remembrances can be sent to the family in care of Bunim/Murray Productions, Box 10421, Van Nuys, CA 91410.

Lil' Kim and P. Diddy No Longer Speaking

(Katrillion) -- You may have noticed that Lil' Kim and P. Diddy have broken their musical ties.

Turns out Kim is no longer on speaking terms with the rap mogul, who managed her career for several years, served as executive producer for her last album and shared the microphone with the rapstress on tunes such as "All About the Benjamins."

Kim recently dished to The Source magazine about what went down and why she thinks the artist/producer formerly known as Puff Daddy is not all that.

"I think that Puff has a lot to learn in the game still," she said. "I'm grateful to have worked with him, but there are a lot of things I didn't like. He ignored a lot of things that were important. He was my manager, he's supposed to be managing me. I was doing way more for him than he was doing for me. It wasn't a two-way street and it hurt."

Lil' Kim recently recorded a soon-to-be-released album without Puffy's help. Ironically, he is now executive producer for the upcoming album by Foxy Brown, Kim's rap rival.

Jordan to Ex-Lover: Just Don't Do It!

by Josh Grossberg
Oct 24, 2002, 10:30 AM PT

Michael Jordan's about to play hardball.

No, His Airness isn't about to give up hoops for another crack at baseball; rather, the basketball god known for great defense on the court is going on the legal offensive, suing an ex-lover he claims is trying to extort millions of dollars from him.

In the lawsuit filed Wednesday in Chicago's Cook County Circuit Court, the former Chicago Bulls star and current Washington Wizard admits to paying the woman, identitifed as Karla Knafel, $250,000 to keep a lid on their dalliance.

However, the suit claims, Knafel wasn't satisfied with the quarter-mil, and she allegedly contacted Jordan's lawyers and demanded an additional payment of $5 million, otherwise, she said, she go public with their affiar.

The lawsuit states Jordan never agreed to pay his onetime mistress anything more than the $250,000, which he initially gave her so she would "not to publicly expose their relationship."

The suit contends her request for additional hush money amounted to "extortion" and violated Illinois' fraud statute, since Knafel had previously agreed not to expose their affair, and Jordan never signed any such agreement in writing. (The complete court document can be found online at The Smoking Gun Website.)

The lawsuit indicates the affair took place more than a decade ago, but did not specify when it began or ended and whether it had anything to do with Jordan's wife, Juanita, filing for divorce last January. Juanita Jordan, who cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, withdrew that petition 31 days later, saying she and Michael would try to work things out.

(The Chicago Tribune quoted friends as saying the petition caught Michael off guard, and he pushed for the reconciliation. The couple tied the knot on September 2, 1989.)

The new complaint seeks a declaration from a judge that Knafel's demand is "unenforceable" and requests an injunction against her or any other persons acting on her behalf from "engaging in further efforts to extort money from Mr. Jordan."

The suit also asks the judge to grant Number 23 any necessary relief the court feels is proper, up to and including a jury trial for the supposed shakedown.

The six-time NBA champion, who spent most of his career with the Bulls before retiring in 1999 and then coming back as a Wizard, is staying mum on the subject. "That's private. That's totally private," said Jordan after being bombarded by reporters' questions following a Wednesday night exhibition game. "I think the statement speaks for itself."

Jordan's attorney, Fred Sperling, reiterated as much this morning: "The complaint says everything Michael Jordan has to say."

The FBI in Chicago and the Cook County state attorney's office refused to comment on whether they were looking into the extortion accusations for a possible criminal charge.

Little is known about Knafel other than what was in Jordan's complaint.

Attempts to reach Jordan's former mistress for comment were unsuccessful, however, the Tribune reported that a woman claiming to be Knafel's sister said Knafel was out of town.

Parker, Broderick and Baby!
Tue Oct 29, 1:05 PM ET
By Marcus Errico

All that sex in the city comes to this: Sarah Jessica Parker and hubby Matthew Broderick are playing parents to a new baby boy.

The Parker-Broderick joint made his debut early Monday morning in Manhattan, according to the actress' publicist, Ina Treciokas.

The rep says the child checked in at six pounds, eight ounces and measured 19 and a half inches. Mom, dad and tyke are all said to be doing well.

Treciokas, however, disputes a New York Post report that the child was named David Perkins Broderick. The Post claimed a placard placed outside the couple's Lenox Hill Hospital room announced the moniker; Treciokas says the boy is still nameless.

According to the newspaper, the baby was born around 3 a.m., and, according to unnamed hospital sources, Parker's labor was remarkably smooth--the baby arrived after only an hour of pushing.

The Post also says the couple came to the hospital "with two cars full of security guards in tow" and was taken to a "heavily guarded" private room on the sixth floor.

Aside from Broderick, who was in the delivery room, the Post reports, Parker's Sex and the City (news - Y! TV) pal Cynthia Nixon (news) managed to make it past security and briefly visited the newbie parents on Monday. Nixon is also preggers and is due later this year.

This is the first baby for the 37-year-old Parker and her 40-year-old husband. The twosome celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in May.

Parker is facing a few months of diaper duty before resuming her Sex and the City chores. The show's fifth season was split in two after producers decided not to incorporate Parker's surprise pregnancy in the plot, with the second portion to begin shooting in February.

Broderick, late of Broadway's The Producers, will next be seen in the ABC TV movie version of the classic musical The Music Man, slated for a February sweeps airdate.

The 58 year old singer is best known for the hits I’m Gonna love you just a little bit more, Can’t get enough of your love, Your Sweetness is my weakness, The first, my last, my everything, and I’ve got so much to give just to name a few. Barry’s family is not taking his illness well. According to published reports they are fighting over his will and he’s not even dead. This woman is his former assistant and they have young child, then there’s the 7 other children. According to the law the wife is the one with all the say, which means the girlfriend may be left out in the cold even though she claims she is his common law wife. This matter may have to be settled in court.

A computer hacker is wrecking havoc in Oprah Winfrey’s life. The computer hack got into her checking account and stole a half million dollars. This computer hack also got Stedman for 150 thousand dollars. Oprah is worth about 900 million dollars and she normally keeps 12 million in her checking account. No one at Oprah’s bank authorized the transactions, which took place over a three month period. Sources say it had to be an inside job because the person had all of Oprah’s personal information.

What’s going on with Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown? Well someone has leaked Whitney’s new LP, Just Whitney, over the Internet. This CD was not supposed to be released until Nov. 26th. Who leaked the LP? This is going to hurt record sales because now thousands of people have access to it without paying for it. Sources say the leak came from a disgruntled worker at Whitney’s label Arista Records. Some of the tracks released include a duet she does with Carlos Santana called ‘Tell Me No’. Other tracks released are ‘My Love’ a song she does with Bobby and a song called ‘One of those days’. Bobby made headlines last week, while at a concert in Atlanta he decided to surprise Singer Teena Marie and join her in singing Fire and Desire. Rick couldn’t be there so Bobby decided he would go up and sing. Did he sound good? I heard he was a mess.

What’s going on with The Rev. Jesse Jackson and Comedian Steve Harvey? Are the two feuding? Steve says they aren’t but according to published reports the two almost got into a fight at a party. Jesse is upset over the movie Barbershop. Jesse feels the movie not only slighted him but the Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. Steve reportedly told Jesse to lighten up about the movie and that’s when the poop hit the fan. Sources say Steve called Jesse a punk &^#% preacher and a hypocrite. Jesse reportedly called Steve a pimp because Steve was dressed in blue and green alligator shoes with a matching suit. This was in addition to all the N-words and MF words flying around. Is Steve taking the high road by denying all of this or did the two almost come to blows?

En Vogue is coming out with a holiday LP. En Vogue the gift of Christmas will feature the new look En Vogue. En Vogue is now a trio with Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis and Newcomer Amanda Coles.

Randy has been hanging out at strip clubs and dropping 360 dollars a pop on strippers getting lap dances. The strippers are starting to talk about Randy and how they feel his excitement when they are dancing on him

Anita Baker is hitting the road. Yes after a 7-year hiatus Anita is performing again.

J.Lo Wants Ben's Babies?
Oct 31, 8:41 AM EST

NEW YORK (AP) -- How does Jennifer Lopez feel about kids?

The actress and singer says she may not want a bunch of them, but would be happy with at least one child. Lopez, currently linked with Ben Affleck, says she would want him to be her baby's father, if it comes to that.

J.Lo made the remarks in an interview on MTV -- where she was showing off a huge pink diamond that Affleck gave her. Lopez and Affleck are currently filming the movie Jersey Girl together.

Lopez, star of such films as The Wedding Planner, Angel Eyes and Enough plays a hotel chambermaid romanced by a political heir in her new movie Maid in Manhattan. The film, also starring Ralph Fiennes, is set for release in December. J.Lo's new album, This Is Me...Then is also coming out in November.

I’ve got good news about singer Barry White. The maestro of love is headed home from the hospital. Seven weeks ago Barry suffered from a stroke. He has high blood pressure and he went into a coma. Doctors were worried about Barry because he has a lot of health problems. Barry is still undergoing dialysis and he still needs a kidney transplant. Barry’s children are now being tested to see if they can give their dad a kidney. If you would like to send your wishes to Barry you can do so at the following email address. Jesusgarber@caprica.com Jesus Garber is a close friend of Barry’s and a music industry vet. He will make sure that Barry receives all his correspondence.

Authorities in New York are investigating the shooting death of Rap Pioneer Jam Master Jay. Jam Master Jays real name was Jason Mizell, he was 37 years old and he leaves to mourn a wife and three kids. Jam Master Jay had just finished a tour with Aerosmith and Kid Rock. According to authorities Jam Master Jay was working with a new female group at a recording studio in Queens, when two men were let in and one of them shot Jam Master Jay in the head. He died at the scene.

So What’s up with Whitney Houston this week? Well her new Album Just Whitney is already on the internet. Someone leaked the album which isn’t due to hit stores until Nov. 26th. Some of the cuts leaked out include a song she does with Santana and a duet she does with her husband Bobby Brown. I hear the folks at Arista were not upset about the leak because they were not crazy about the lp which I hear is just average. Meanwhile, in other Whitney news, she and Bobby have been listed as suspects for making death threats against one of her father’s business associates. According to a police report Whitney and Bobby threatened this man’s life. Whitney’s dad, John Houston, is suing his daughter for non payment of management services and the police think the death threats may be linked to this.

Fire officials in Detroit are investigating a mysterious fire that destroyed a mansion owned by Aretha Franklin. Aretha did not live in this 800 thousand dollar mansion but she used it to store boxes and furniture. The mansion was destroyed when the walls and floors collapsed. Aretha was in Texas at the time of the fire.

Lionel Richie is having a hard time with his oldest daughter. Nicole Richie could be facing criminal charges in New York following a fight that left a guy with a cut face. According to reports Nicole got into a fight with a rich guy. Nicole cut his face with a cocktail glass. She jabbed the glass in his face. His vision is blurred and he had to get stitches. There’s still no word on what caused the fight but friends say Lionel can’t control his daughter. She’s out of control with her partying and drinking. Nicole is Lionel’s oldest daughter. Nicole was adopted by Lionel and his first wife Brenda Richie. Remember Brenda? She’s the one who opened a can of whip ass on Lionel when she caught him cheating on her. Brenda also beat up his girlfriend. This same woman ended up marrying Lionel Richie. The big question now is can Lionel keep his daughter out of jail.

The National Association of Cosmetologist have filed a 60 million dollar lawsuit against the Rev. Jesse Jackson and The Rev Al Sharpton. The lawsuit stems from their demands from MGM to edit out scenes they didn’t like and found offensive. Jesse and Al threatened the studio with a boycott for scenes deriding Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Jesse Jackson. The NAC represents over 50 thousand barbers and beauticians and they say the threat and other remarks created a negative sentiment about the profession resulting in the loss of business. The movie Barbershop has grossed 71 million dollars at the box office.

R Kelly is back to making explicit music. R Kelly’s new song is called Ignition and one of the more interesting lines include ‘I want to stick my key in your ignition’. What happened to Heaven I Need A Hug. R Kelly is due back in court on Nov. 21st . He’s facing 21 counts of child pornography, stemming from a video allegedly showing him having sex with a 14 year old girl.

Rapper/Singer Missy Elliott is losing weight and she looks great. Missy says she had to lose weight because she was in danger with her high blood pressure. Missy says she is now working out. Her new lp, Under Construction, comes out on the 12th and it features the hit single Work It.

I hear June Pointer of the Pointers Sisters is back in rehab. June has not been able to overcome her drug addiction. June was supposed to participate in a music special for ABC with her sisters Ruth and Anita, but she couldn’t make it so her niece had to take her place.

Toni Braxton lashes out in the new issue of Vibe Magazine. Toni accuses rapper Jay z and his fiance Beyonce of stealing one of her song ideas. She says they are taking food out of her baby’s mouth and she criticizes Jennifer Lopez. Toni says Jennifer is a good actress but she is new to the singing world. Toni says she can judge because she has six Grammy awards under her belt. Toni is due to give birth to her second child next spring. Her new song ‘Hit The Freeway’ is slowly climbing up the charts. Is Toni lashing out because no one is feeling her new song? Toni has joined the long list of singers who feel they must have a rapper on their songs. The only real singer who can pull this off is Faith Evans. Most female artists do this to cover up the fact that they can’t sing.

So what’s up with Jennifer Lopez this week? Well J-Lo has been caught on camera. While filming a music video, J-Lo was caught acting naughty. The music video was filmed in a restaurant, J-Lo was on one side and a bridal shower party was on the other side. Members of the bridal shower party were filming the shower and they caught J-Lo shoving her hands down her boyfriend’s pants. The boyfriend of course is Actor Ben Affleck. While she was shoving her hands down his pants she gave him a big squeeze and he broke out in a big grin. Meanwhile J-Lo’s clothing line is expanding. J-Lo’s clothing line will now include plus sizes.

Supermodel Tyra Banks will serve as a judge and as an executive producer for a new reality series on UPN, Looking for Supermodels.

Ms. Lo is this generation's Liz Taylor

Jen & Ben Engaged!
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are ready to say "I do." No wedding date has been set, but it's official: Jen and Ben are engaged! Access Hollywood can confirm that the 25-carat rock J. Lo was sporting in October on the set of her music video is indeed the engagement ring.

The couple met on the set of the movie Gigli last year while the 32-year-old star was still married to dancer Cris Judd. Their divorce won't be final until January. Jen and Ben started dating in June 2002 and in September they caused quite a commotion on the set of their film Jersey Girl, with onlookers in a frenzy over the couple's public displays of affection.

By late September, Lopez was already showing off the reported $3.5 million rock. It will be J. Lo's third marriage. She divorced Ojani Noa in 1998.

Recently, J. Lo and Ben teamed up in her new music video. From the yachts to their hotel suites, Access Hollywood went inside the world of Hollywood's ultimate glam couple.

Jennifer treated her fiancé to a taste of Jenny's world. Her video "Jenny From the Block" features, of course, a sexily-clad Jen, Ben, and a lot of skin. The video is all about voyeurism. Even the construction workers in the video can't keep their eyes off J. Lo. The elaborate shoot, which entailed 19 different location changes in just three days and closed down an entire downtown Los Angeles block, centered on the concept of prying paparazzi and spy-camera footage.

This is just too much! J. Lo needs to be by herself. She switches men like most people switch the channel. And Ben Affleck, please! He'll get dumped just like every other man that she has been with.

Has anyone else seen Jenny from the Block? I have and it is terrible! The whole point of the song is to say that she's changed but that's NOT what the video is about. All you see is her and Ben, not cute!

Winona Ryder was found guilty of theft and vandalism. Do you think her celebrity was used against her? Do you feel that she was made a scapegoat for the fact that they couldn't get OJ? I think that they vigorously went after her because of her celebrity status. I think that this case was maybe worthy of a little plea bargaining. However, she was arrested and found guilty, so there are statutes and laws. It will be interesting to see what her sentence is. Sentencing is scheduled for Decemeber 6. Yes I definitely think her celebrity status was used against her. While I don't condone stealing/shoplifting, I can't believe so many manhours were wasted on this case when there are so many murderers, rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers who get quickie plea bargains and end up roaming the streets!

LOL, I wonder if Vegas takes bets on how long the marriage will last. I guessed it'd last a year with Chris Judd (which didn't even go that far) I'd guess 6 months with Ben Afflek--IF they make it down the aisle:p

And to think that Whitney Houston was worried about being seen as one who likes to get off with women.

She could have chosen any man in the world -- wasn't she linked w/Eddie Murphy and Randall Cunningham (retired NFL QB) at one time? Instead, she chooses a piece of human crap who can't keep his dirty d*** from creating all these outside kiddies.

He don't look as crackish as his wife, that's for sho'. She look real close to dead in this pic... and I ain't even know she was a crackhead in '98. Poor thing. :(

I don't understand this whole Michigan thing. Ok, if he hadn't paid the players, they wouldn't have come to UofM? If that is the case, then I understand. If they were gonna come anyway, and were already there, how were they not playing by the rules? Like, past the first year... already students, right? Already playing, right? Were gonna keep playing? Just cuz they got paid, how does that mean they didn't play fair? I'm not sayin there should be no ramifications, I'm just sayin what difference does it make NOW? Will the schools that lost to them now get banners for those years that they are forfeiting? If not, what, exactly, will be on the books? And does the NBA care?? And the money will just go back, and no one gets it? Or the schools that came in second place get it? What is going on?

Yall know, I'm pretty simplistic, and this is a little complicated for my little mind, lol.

Actor Merlin Santana Killed

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Merlin Santana, a television and film actor who appeared in this year's Eddie Murphy (news) movie "Showtime," was shot to death while sitting in a parked car, authorities said Sunday.

AP Photo

Santana, 26, was killed early Saturday in South Los Angeles, police spokeswoman Lucy Diaz said.

He was sitting in the passenger seat shortly after 2:30 a.m. when at least one person approached the car and fired, Lt. Clay Farrell said.

The driver escaped injury, drove off and flagged down police. Paramedics responded but Santana was pronounced dead at the scene, Farrell said.

No arrests were immediately made and investigators had not determined a motive for the attack.

The New York-born Santana had a recurring role on "The Steve Harvey (news) Show," playing Romeo Santana. The role won him nominations for NAACP Image Awards and ALMA Awards, which honor Hispanic performers.

One of his earliest roles was as Stanley, the faithful admirer of Rudy Huxtable on the hit series "The Cosby Show."

He also had guest appearances on several television shows, including "Major Dad," "Moesha" and "Sister, Sister."

He later joined the casts of "Getting By" and the short-lived James Earl Jones (news) drama "Under One Roof."

I see why these entertainers have an entourage of bodyguards with them. And I also see why those bodyguards push their fans to the side because it's crazy. I saw one article over the weekend where Jennifer Lopez was being slammed blasted because her bodyguards seldom allow fans whether their children or adults to come near her. It's because of crapp like this:mad:. Hell if I was a celebrity I'd have an entourage of bodyguards, too.
And lastly, as a celebrity you have to be real cautious about who you hang with. I get so sick of these black entertainers murder cases going unsolved. Are black entertainers being careless period!!! Oweing folks money, west coast east coast crap, skeletons coming back to haunt them or whatever. Once again I ask are black entertainers being careless?

Woman Arrested in Actor's Death

.c The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A woman was arrested early Monday in the weekend shooting
death of television and film actor Merlin Santana, but Los Angeles police
provided no other details.

Santana, 26, who recently appeared in the Eddie Murphy and Robert De Niro
movie ``Showtime,'' was shot to death early Saturday while sitting in the
passenger seat of a car parked in south Los Angeles.

Police did not release the woman's identity in announcing her arrest.

``The investigation is ongoing, and no further comment will be given at this
time,'' Lt. Horace Frank said.

Earlier, police said that at least one person approached the car and opened
fire, striking Santana. The driver escaped injury, drove off and flagged down
police.

Santana was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Clay Farrell said Sunday. No
motive for the slaying had been reported by investigators.

The New York-born Santana earned nominations for the NAACP Image Awards and
ALMA Awards, which honor Hispanic performers, for his recurring role as Romeo
Santana on ``The Steve Harvey Show'' on the WB Network.

``This kid is not a gangster,'' said Harvey, a radio and television talk show
host in Los Angeles. ``Whatever the situation as, he didn't deserve to die.''

``Why is it that young people today feel they have no alternative but to
murder somebody?'' Harvey said during a KCBS-TV interview Monday.

Premiering Tuesday, November 12, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, HBO SPORTS
presents the "Sports of the 20th Century" special O.J.: A STUDY IN
BLACK AND WHITE, a penetrating examination of race relations in
America.

The documentary travels to the heart of race relations between
blacks and whites in America through the experiences of O.J.

endorsement, acting and broadcasting careers, and his trial for the
murders of his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron
Goldman in 1994, Simpson displayed an ability to move comfortably
between races. (Actually, I may love to see how Ohhjjj does his shine act)

Police Investigate Rick James
Wed Nov 13, 7:50 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Singer Rick James is under investigation by police for an alleged sexual assault of a woman at his home.

James, 50, best known for his 1981 hit "Super Freak," had a search warrant served on his Woodland Hills home Monday night. Police said a 26-year-old woman claims she was sexually assaulted by James last weekend.

"They are allegations of a sexual nature," said police Capt. Jim Tatreau, who said James has cooperated with police.

James was convicted in 1993 of assaulting two women. The first attack occurred two years earlier when he restrained and burned a young woman with a hot pipe during a cocaine binge at his house in West Hollywood.

He was free on bail when the second assault occurred in 1992 in James' hotel room.

James was sentenced to more than two years in state prison. A jury acquitted him on a torture charge.

In 1997, the singer released a new album, but a year later he suffered a stroke that derailed a comeback tour. He went on tour again this year, appearing in Los Angeles in May.

FOUND: Jamiee Foxworth
By Juli M. Wyatt, Special to BET.com

Posted Nov. 12, 2002 -- Best remembered as Judy Winslow, the youngest of the three Winslow children from the TV hit sitcom, "Family Matters," Jamie Foxworth was on our TV screens weekly (1989-93), and then, without a trace, she was gone. The character of Judy was merely written out the series at the end of the fourth season without an explanation and May 14, 1993, was the last time Jaimee Foxworth's name appeared in the opening credits while playing with her dollhouse. Foxworth was 10 when she started the show and just 13 at the time she was released. Now a decade later, Foxworth, who's about to turn 23 this December, still struggles with what happened.

At the age of 20, depressed, bankrupt and down on her luck, Foxworth turned to alcohol and turned to a different brand of entertainment. She became a porn star and appeared in more than a dozen hard-core porn videos. The sexier, eyebrow-pierced Foxworth, known in the adult entertainment industry as "Crave," starred in sex videos including, "Booty Talk 20: Super Fine Sistas," "More Black Dirty Debutantes 30" and "The Adventures of Peeping Tom 28."

"I got caught up in the wrong crowd. A lot of my friends were shooting porn films. I was broke, so when I was offered $15,000 to work on a porno I had to say yes. I was offered $15,000 for a half-hour's worth of work. It was hard to resist. That's easy money," she said. "It's not a lifestyle that I really wanted to get into, but I was desperate. It was more of a necessity. People said I had the body and looks for it and it paid good money, it paid the bills. Since I was a former TV actor I got paid a little more than the other girls. But I'm not very proud of some of the things I've done. "
Foxworth began her career at age 5, modeling and appearing in national TV commercials. She appeared on the television series "Amen" and "TV 101," before landing her big break in 1989 on "Family Matters." "Everyone always asks, 'what happened to you?' At the end of the fourth season my character walks up the stairs to her room but she never came down and no one ever mentioned me again. I just vanished. I remember asking my mom 'when are we going back to work,' but that day never came."

Foxworth's mother, Gwynn Foxx, was once an accomplished actress herself, but rumors circulated that she, as Foxworth's manager, had made demands to "Family Matters" producers that the child star receive more money. Instead of receiving a salary increase, the character of Judy, who was never given more than a few lines an episode, was released from the show and never seen on TV again.

Presumably, Foxworth was let go because the character was the least-developed and the show was beginning to focus more on the love-chase between Steve Urkel (Jaleel White) and Judy's TV sister, Laura (Kellie Wiliams). But perhaps most troubling is that Judy's disappearance was never explained in the storyline. "All I can say is that is was really a tough time for me. Looking back, I guess the writers and producers didn't know how to explain it, so they just choose not to. The producers never told me why I was written out of the show." Foxworth believes her mother's demands for more money is what ultimately led to her contract not being renewed.

The then-teenage Foxworth returned to a life away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and attended Burbank High School. "It was a hard adjustment, I didn't really have any friends and people seem to think you're rich because they've seen you on TV, but actually, I wasn't. I never saw a cent of the money I'd earned on 'Family Matters.' " Foxworth's earnings, an estimated $500,000, had been put into a trust account that she couldn't touch until she turned 21. This is a common practice to ensure financial security for most child stars, but Foxworth, who at age 19 left the home she lived in with her mother, two sisters and niece, never got to enjoy the fruits of her labor. "When I turned 20 my family filed for bankruptcy and a judge allowed my money from my trust fund to go toward bailing the family of out of debt. All of my money went to cover the bankruptcy. I couldn't believe it. In an instant I was dead broke."

With the lure of fast money, Foxworth continued to make more adult films. "Alcohol helped. I'd do my thing for about 30 minutes, pretty much just one scene, and then the producers would cut me a check. In 30 minutes I was $15,000 richer. The money was great, but it was starting to wear on me, wear on my conscience. To be honest, I enjoyed the money more than I enjoyed the sex. But now I'm done with being Crave. I haven't done a movie in awhile. It's all behind me now. I'm more religious and I'm focusing on serious acting again."

Foxworth has returned to auditioning for television roles and contemplating a singing career (her two sisters are vocalists). She also works as an assistant at her mother's talent agency in California. "When my mom found out what I had been doing, I'm glad she didn't judge me. I'm still young with a bright future ahead of me. I'm glad my mistakes are behind me now."
