Im the girl who went DG at Clemson and I love it. My roomate went KKG along with 2 other of my friends. Other girls went ChiO, AChiO, ADPi, TriDelt, Theta and ZTA from my rush group. One went Gamma Phi and hates is so she is dropping out. Another went KD and hates it so is thinking of dropping out. Bid day at Clemson was a little wet so we couldn't do as much as I think they wanted. It was awewsome though and I love being a DG!

sbhill2,
Congratulations on your bid from DELTA GAMMA!
I'm so happy to hear how excited you are!
Go DG!
I would really suggest that your Gamma Phi Beta and Kappa Delta new member friends give it a chance!
There are other threads on this forum explaining that the real experience of being in a sorority is the day-to-day support you get and fun you have with you chapter.
I would tell them to express their reservations to their new member educator or their "big sisters" before they make any rash decisions. It's an amazing experience, I wouldn't want them to miss out just because they are exhausted and cranky after recruitment.
Congrats again on your future with DG.

Hi and congratulations sbhill2! Thanks for letting mmcline share your story with us. I hate to think of your friends not being happy, but hopefully they will talk with their new sisters and give themselves some time to settle in. Joining a sorority can be a bit overwhelming, and like violets said it's good for them to talk with someone before making a decision that may or may not be the right one for them.
I'm thrilled to see your excitement about Delta Gamma! My best for a lifetime of sisterhood and friendship in DG.
Fraternally,
Christin

Hey guys...so I found out that quota was set at 48 for the Clemson GLO's...the only other tidbit I heard was that Chi Omega had a fabulous rush and took 49 ladies! Congratulations Clemson and Chi Omega :)

My boyfriend is a Delta Chi at Clemson, and he told me that some magazine or something just ranked Clemson's Greek System as the best in the nation. Any truth to this? Anyone know more details?

Yes its true... some magazine did rank Clemson's Greek System as one of the top in the nation. A paraphrase from that is that 'the only thing more followed by Clemson students than the Tigers themselves is the Greek Galley".....thats fairly true as most of our weekends are spent at frat parties for those who choose to go. THere isn't much else for us to do in Clemson and the sororities have really good here. There is else to do for those not in the Greek system but the Greeks play a hgue role on campus from what I have seen so far this year.

BrownEyeGirl - which one of the DG Rho CHi's did you stay with? Elizabeth Ward and Lisa Light are both awesome sisters and Im so happy to be a DG. I wanted to be a ZTA after first round but then sadly I got cut from then after second which was good b/c at that point I liked DG a lot. Anyways, I hope you are excited with all your knew girls and i Know I am so pumped to be a DG. Thanks and lemme know which one you were with during Recruitment!

...how Gamma Phi did? Good I hope...they weren't mentioned as the sorority any in your group pledged so I am a bit afraid to ask...

One girl in my group did get a bid from Gamma Phi but unfortunately, she dropped out after bid night. She knew then that sororities were not right for her and she said she was completly miserable at bid night. She is happy though with her decision to drop out. Otherwise, Gamma Phi did well I think - I have met a few girls who pledged it who are pretty cool. I don't know much about them in general since none of my friends are in it. The girls were nice during RUSH though when I talked to them.

Glad to hear they did well -- sorry about the gal who dropped out though.
