View Full Version : Bigger Than Your Org?

How do y'all feel about individual members who put their own self-centered interests above your org? How about individuals who insist on making private disputes public or being less than discrete with their letters on?
I have witnessed this in my own org and another lately and it appalls me.

I say that they shouldn't have made line. These folks were wack BEFORE they pledged so they will be wack AFTER. We have noone to blame but ourselves.

Doggystyle82,
First, I would like to say that I'm sorry that you're having this problem with a member. Second, I must agree with Mccoyred - the person was foolish before he became a member and now he wants to bring that mess into your organization.
Foolish members make you want to slap them silly!

How about if its a respected, seasoned member with a title who thinks that they are doing the org a "service" ? Anyway, its often hard to tell who these individuals will be unless they have been observed long enough prior to being extended membership.

In the current process, ie no prepledging, there is often not sufficient time to observe an individual because we know that they are always on their best behavior AFTER rush....
Anywho, try having a member whom THEY respect and admire talk to them about their behavior. Everyone has someone they respect and try to emulate.
Good Luck, bruh!

Unfortunatley you never know how some people are going to be until after they have crossed.
The "real" comes out then!

Doggystyle82,
That person knows better than to act that way and this is a very strong case or reason to bring back traditional pledging. There are so many crazy things going on with a few members in our organizations. We wonder how did they get in the organization in the first place? Simple because we are under the impression that folks are mature, intelligent, and responsible beings. However, there are so many people that have the "Burger King mentality" that want to have it their way. Stay strong and positive hopefully this member will get it together real soon.
