I am a non-drinker :D

Haven't always been though, but after college, the "thrill" was gone........

i'm not a non-drinker, but i don't drink much.
i don't drink beer, which of course was a pain in the ass when everyone at parties would be shoving it at me. i also don't drink wine.
i drink on occasion, but not to get wasted. I've been "trashed" maybe once or twice, but never so bad that i got sick or couldn't remember what i did.

There's a long story behind this name. ;)
The reason why I chose it had nothing to do w/ wine.

lol, I was trying to say that I doubted anyone on GC was gonna answer the call for non-drinkers. Actually I, like kddani, do not drink beer. It just smells nasty and on principal, I never taste things that smell bad. I HAVE had a sip of Red Stripe, but that was it. I only drink liquor.

Actually I am also a non-beer drinker. I just never acquired the taste for it. I only drink liquor and I did not drink until after I was 21 years old.

I don't drink. I tried it in college (SEC schools are hard-drinking schools!) but didn't like the taste and never got the "buzz" that other people seemed to get. So...communion wine is the only alcohol I've had since the mid seventies.

I don't drink at parties. Seems like somebody always ends up needing a ride.

Once in awhile the boyfriend'll bust out a bottle of wine for dinner, but it's pretty rare -- I am a VERY cheap date. A glass and a half and I'm gone! So there's really nothing for me between sober and DRUNK.

This is exactly what I was going to say about myself:

I wouldn't consider myself a non-drinker (obviously). However I don't drink often or a lot. While living in Austin I hardly drank at all and so my tolerance went WAY DOWN. I can home and had a drink with a friend and was buzzing after the first one!

Have I drank before? Yes

However, i could pretty much say i dont drink. I dont not drink for religious reasons or anything like that, i just dont.

With that being said, I am 21 and have never gotten drunk!

So many female non-beer drinkers here. While I simply can't palate cheap beers like Natty Ice or certain pale ales, I love a cold Rolling Rock (an inexpensive, not "cheap" beer).

And as far as guys, it's almost a requirement that they enjoy the taste of beer. It's some socially instilled idea that I retain...possibly the product of all the beer commercials...that makes me equate beer drinking with masculinity.

I'm actually a non-drinker, and by the looks of it..one of the few on GC (as well as in my entire University, lol!) :)

Librasoul: umm red stripe is a really personal choice. I personally think it's ok, but not too many other kids I know are into Jamaican beers.

And I've been drinking (mainly wine) since I was really young so I don't think I will ever stop. It's a cultural thing. I didn't ever get drunk until college and as I've gotten older, it doesn't appeal to me as much. So anyway, if I drink 48 more bottles at the pub I get a free tshirt. Considering each bottle is about $5-10 this will be my most expensive tshirt.

--For a light beer that is really good try Blue Moon with a slice of orange. For a nice high alcohol content beer, try 3 Floyds.

I am pretty much of a non-drinker. I had a little Balley's after dinner a few months ago and had couple beers sometime last year. Guns and alcohol do not mix.

I don't drink.
My parents started giving me little swiggles of wine when I was about 14 or 15, so that, along with spending time in countries where the drinking age was 16, took care of any curiosity I might have had about alchohol.
I'm 21 and never been drunk, though! My 21st birthday was the day "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" premiered, so I went to see that instead of spending the night at some bar.

I'm a non-drinker now. I was such a straight laced high schooler, and when I started my freshmen year of college I wanted to experiement with partying and drinking. I over did it a few times and made a complete fool out of myself. I don't see a point of getting totally trashed. Plus alcohol loses its appeal once you've had it thrown up on you. *Yuck*

I've grown out of it and haven't had alcohol in monthes. If I do drink it's just a sip of the fruity stuff and that's it.

Down here it is pretty popular. Other places I go, no one has heard of it.

I don't drink. Never have, never will. The smell of it makes my stomach turn.

I don't drink, either. I never developed a taste for it, and I saw too many drunk friends make complete fools of themselves in college to ever want to develop a taste for it. I was always happy to be the sober sister. The hardest thing I drink is iced tea with tons of sugar. I'm Southern. It's the law.

The best thing about being a non-drinker around drinking friends is the huge amount of blackmail material you end up with. It's like a bloody gold mine.

Now most of my friends are non-drinkers too, so the amount of "hold it over their head" stuff is down to zero lol.
