Hey, I'm just noticing I keep seeing some lingo over and over again. What are GLO's and BGLO's and what is the difference between NPC and NPHC? Thanks!

GLO= Greek Lettered Organizations
BGLO= Black Greek Lettered Organizations which are also referred to as NPHC organizations

The NPC (National Panhellenic Conference)is the umbrella organization for 26 international or National Women's Fraternities and Sororities. Their web page is http://www.npcwomen.org .

The NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) is the umbrella organization for 9 Black greek lettered orgs. Their webpage is http://www.nphc.org .

Hey, um, John or any other moderators..

I know that I've seen this question asked at least a couple times before. Do you think it would be beneficial to have a little FAQ or "common terms" kinda page for new users? Just a thought.. I'm sure some of our posts get confusing if you're not familiar with common terms...

Example:

At our HBCU there is 1 NPC GLO, besides the 4 NPHC BGLOs.

(While I totally made up that sentence, I can see how would really befuddle someone!)

Add in IFC, PFA and it really starts sounding "greek," I'm sure... pun intended! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
