Unfortunately, Amy is not alone this week.

On Friday evening we had my cat euthanized. He was 20 years old, but he'll always be my baby. I've been mostly numb since it happened. Occasionally breaking into tears. It's so wierd, the days before I was a sobbing mess, and now I'm like a zombie. He was in such poor health and had a severe siezure on Wednesday night. But I'd give anything just to be able to hold him again a stroke his silky ears.:(

shopgirl i am so sorry to hear that! i definitely know how you're feeling. I am coping by remembering all the things about Bear that made me smile--the way she'd race over to you and kiss you when you sneezed--the way she'd try to bury her head in the ground like an ostrich (earning her a well deserved nickname), etc. I am sure you have many fun memories of Friskey that will warm your heart as you greive.

I feel ya... My cat here almost bought it 3-4 months back. Had a bladder infection and some kidney stones... Luckily he responded to a changed diet. Only 12 years old so hopefully many years left.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. You will definitely experience different stage of grieving, as it sounds like you are now. Try to remember the good times and happy memories...when you do, Friskey will be with you.

Take a hot bath and look after yourself; you deserve it!

I am sorry to hear that. When the cat I had like all of my life died my mom told me that he "ran away." I was so sad when I found out she was lying.... but its kind of funny now that I think about it.

p.s. I wont do that to my kids!

I'm so sorry to hear about Friskey. My cat died at 18 and it was rough, she was my birthday present when I was 5...

SoCalGirl, I'm so sorry about your kitty. My dog Jude, the only pet I have ever had...we had to put down a few months back. It is so hard to do it i know. But once i thought about how much happier he was in animal heaven, it was comforting. I'm not kidding either, just to know your life long friend is at peace and not in pain is worth the hurt...
