I am sorry for the morbid subject matter--

My parents had to put our dog Bear to sleep on Wednesday. :(
She was 13, but I didn't even think she was old enough for this. The vet said her heart and other internal organs were enlarged and it wasn't going to get any better, plain old old age.

It was so sudden, which is why I think I am having such a hard time with it. She maintained the vigor of a puppy until about a week before this.

:( i am so sad that I'm never going to get to play w her, hug her, kiss her, tell her how much I love her again!

My sincere condolences. Would you like a puppy from the Bowling Green Humane Society?

I know when I feel down, I just look at a John Deere tractor. That might brighten your spirits a lil bit.

Look! It's a little tractor!

Oh, soooo sorry! I know that when my faimily's pets have died, we've grieved. Just know that your dog had 13 wonderful years being loved.

Amy,

So sorry to hear about Bear! :( My boyfriend's roommate had to put down his 13 year old Sharpei "Chops" last weekend. It was sad for the whole house, and I know how you're feeling right now.

Hope you start feeling better soon! :)

Amy,

I am so sorry about Bear! I know that losing a pet is losing a family member and very hard to deal with. Take your time, grieve and hopefully, things will start to seem brighter with time.

Amy,

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Losing a pet in some ways is just like losing a friend of family member, because many times, that's what our pets are.

I will add you to my prayers tonight.

Love,
Jeannie

Amy,

I am so sorry to hear about your dog Bear. I know how tough it is to lose not only a pet but a dear family member. I am going through the same thing with my dog and soon I will have to euthanize her :(.

Please know we are all here for you.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Last fall we had to put both our dogs down. It's never an easy decision...old brewy was 18 years old! It's such an empty feeling not seeing him around when i go back, he was there for so long.

I am so sorry to hear about your doggy. Mine died in in December. He was 14 years old and we found out that he had a cyst on his pancreas and was bleeding internally so my mom had to put him asleep. I know exactly how hard it is because some people don't understand how special dogs are. They think that they are just a "dog" and I thought of him as a member of my family. I still haven't gotten over it fully but it does get better. At first I didn't think that I could live without him but I see now that I can by thinking about all the good times we had.

Hope you feel better soon

Thank you soooo much everybody. You've made me smile.

What do you think of this idea-- I am going home later this week to visit my parents, will be bringing Dad's father's day gift w me then. He was especially attached to Bear, she was my Christmas gift to him in 1989. (OK, so it was a selfigh gift, I took one look at her cute puppy self and fell in love)

Well, I have a TON of pics of my photogenic puppy from the past 13 years, I thought about putting some of them together in a book for my dad....????

I just wanna say that I'm really sorry. Our dog Belle passed away in Feb. It was all of a sudden. I'm just glad that I got to see her that morning before I went back to school (i just randomly came home for some reason and I'm glad i did). So I know how hard it can be. ***Hugs***

I think the scrapbook would be good. I blew up a pix of me and my dog and framed it for my mom for Mother's Day. I'm sure he would like that.

Losing a pet is hard, I lost two of my dogs within a year of each other. It does get better over time, even though it's been 6 years I still tear up over them but I also laugh remembering all the great times we had. I think the scrapbook sounds like a great idea! I would give anything to have a scrapbook of Muffin or Lucky.

I love this piece; has anyone ever read it?

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plently of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are waem and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill or old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent: his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begings to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling to each other in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress that beloved head and you look once more into those trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from you heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
