The best way is to BE POSITIVE!!! Easier said than done, I know, but a positive atmosphere breeds more positive comments. If someone starts to gossip to you or in front of you, call them on it! Be kind, but make it clear that negative comments are SO detrimental to the group, and create an environment of mistrust. If someone has something going on that's really worth criticizing behind her back, then the focus should be on finding a loving way to let her know and get her back on track to REALIZING HER POTENTIAL!!!

I am TOTALLY frustrated with this too.....our chapter is having a tough time with unity right now, and the sad thing is that alleigance to two fraternities is what I think is causing it! Our campus is in an uproar right now and there is absolutely NO greek unity. I've tried everything to get people to be mature and not act like they're still in high school but lately it is IMPOSSIBLE!! Is anyone else going through these problems? I'm going crazy and I am sick of being upset with people all the time.
