Slayer Launches Drummer Search

Metal band offering fans and musicians the chance to fill vacant seat. Taking their cue from Limp Bizkit, who are seeking a new
guitarist by auditioning fans and musicians on the road, Slayer
are offering aspiring drummers the opportunity to fill in for Paul
Bostaph, who recently left the band because of a chronic elbow injury.

Candidates must videotape themselves drumming to ten Slayer
tracks from seven albums in addition to a short biography and
list of musical credits. Entries should be sent to: Slayer Drum
Search Contest, c/o RSMA Inc., 8981 Sunset Boulevard, Suite
102, Hollywood, CA, 90069.

There will be three auditions for the opening: February 1st in
Peoria, Illinois (videotape must be submitted by January 26th),
February 7th in Dallas and February 13th in San Francisco.
Tapes for the final two auditions are due on February 1st.

Until they find a replacement, Slayer will be on the road
beginning January 24th in New Haven, Connecticut, with
original drummer Dave Lombardo behind the kit.

In other Slayer news, the group is nominated for a 2002
Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for "Disciple," a track from last year's God Hates Us All.
