Hey all, first off I would like to say Happy Holidays :D
Heres my question , just curious, really, posed to all Locals and MC orgs and really anyone else out there with multiply chapters. Are you all well informed about what your other chapters do? Like for say,a chapter in California, would you all know whats going on day for day with a chapter in hmm lets say Maine?
What do you all think ? Is it important to know everything that chapter xyz does when your in chapter oby?
Somethings been on my mind and figured whats the best way to clear the mind but to ask my fellow GCers:)
Thanks

Well soror, I don't think it is that important unless the chapter is new and getting off the ground. I mean if everyone is following the same rules and guidelines everything should run smoothly. In reality though, you are always gonna have one or two people who don't want to follow the rules.
DGPhoney, you know I was lol on this one!!!!!!:D

Each year, Alpha Gamma Delta hosts International Reunion Day. Each state holds it differently. In Georgia, all of the chapters get together. The Presidents give a speech about what they did the past year. Next Spring, it will be in Valdosta (hmm..who do we know that goes there??? lol). After that, each chapter will have their's individually and then meet statewide every 4 years. The reason was that distances and times make it difficult. Also, the focus is supposed to be on "Reunion" so this might be a better chance to have "older" sisters come. In the past, it is usually only collegiates, advisors and a handful of sisters not actually connected to a local chapter, attend.
Also, AGD's magazine, The Quarterly, publishes chapter-by-chapter accounts of their activities.
One idea might be to get each other's web site address and check it out and/or email!
The best thing to do is to actually meet! Why not have a fundraiser for your organization's philanthropy or just a "hey" party, separate from the "official" gatherings!

I don't think it's important , like AGDlynn said they have ways and activites to help everyone understand whats going on in each chapter. You know, my soror, I was using this to prove a point ;) (you know the point sis)
Thanks AGDlynn :D for you input!!!!

It's understandable that you don't need to know EVERY little thing that each chapter does but I think it would be a good idea for each chapter to at least know what events are going on so maybe they can get ideas for activities and fundraisers for the next semester. :)
