Did anyone ever find out why there weren't any Eta Chapters? We require our pledges to interview all 60 of the actives and a part of the interview includes us asking them Teke trivia. It would be great to know the answer to this one to stump all the pledges.

Read the other threads in the TKE forum the answer to that question. It has already been answered.

I looked in most of the other threads and couldn't find it. Could you let me know which one it is in. Thanks

Its on the second page of the TKE forum. Its found in the thread called trivia. Also there is a thread called the Eta question which has an email adress to a frater that helped decide to not have eta chapters.

I searched through the trivia thread, and all I found was a bunch of posts of fraters asking if anyone knew. No one seemed to know the answer, but I will send an e-mail to the Grand Prytanis at the time and see what he says about it. Thanks

I'll make it easy for you and copy what Erik Conard previously said about TKE's missing Eta chapters:
"The Eta alphabet was skipped as it was deemed offensive by
a large number of people. Other fraternities have used it, but
who wants to be a member of Eta Beta chapter? "
Hope this helps!
By the way, I hope there are no sororities with Eta Pi chapters! :D

No offense to ZTA, but I remember that when we were learning the Greek alphabet, the sequence of "Zeta Eta Theta" seemed far funnier than it really is. :D We were thinking of Theta Chi's, not Kappa Alpha Theta.

i'm pretty sure my hegemon used to make stuff up, but i was always told it was to avoid having an eta pi chapter. i wonder if we ever get around to triple letter designations, if we'll have an alpha eta pi?
