I drive a 96 Dodge Stratus but truly want a 2002 Totoyata Highland SUV. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who could tell me about insurance costs for SUVs these days..in Atlanta traffic would help, lol!!:)

If you call your insurance provider they can plug all your info into the computer and tell you almost to the dime how much it will cost :)

I drive a 99 Ford Explorer Sport and suprisingly the insurance is less than when I had the corolla. Their reasoning was that a bigger vehicle like an explorer is more recoverable than a corolla would be. Thats just my insurance company though.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I pay less than $700 a year via American Express... Check out their website for an online quote... ofcourse, I am 40-something, female, with no accidents and less than 3 miles from work....

I was with State Farm previously, but their rates were almost double... and GEICO was almost double State Farm...

Check out progressive.com - Nationwide is also cheap...

Thanks, y'all. BTW, hubby is out of town tonight so I drove to a local rest. that sold "homestyle cookin". When I looked at the vehicle parked in front of me, it was a Highlander..coincidence? lol

BTW2, I thought about calling my insurance company? We have State Farm also.

What if they ask about any new traffic tickets? My hubby just got one for going 55 in a 35 mile zone or something..one of the local small-Southern town speed traps.

BTW3, lol..hubby just called from Houston. Their rental car is a Suzuki 4x4 something or other..he liked it alot.
