Spring Rush

Hello I was interested in rushing in the spring and wanted to know if anyone knew how different it was from rushing in the fall. Is it better? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Unless you go to a campus with deferred recruitment, Spring rush is usually very different from fall (or formal) recruitment. The recruitment events are less structured and not every group on campus may participate in spring recruitment. Only chapters that are no longer at campus total will participate. For example, if chapter total is 100 and a chapter has 20 seniors graduate in December, that chapter would be eligible to pledge 20 new members during spring recruitment.

Let us know what campus you attend, etc. and we might be able to answer questions more specifically.

This has links to the sororities at SWT. On the ZTA page, it says you can contact Lindsey Roberts for Spring 2002 recruitment information: LinzR0588@aol.com.

It appears that SWT does hold a formal recruitment in the Fall and informal recruitment (C.O.B) in the spring. As I mentioned earlier, not all chapters will participate in Spring recruitment. It may be that all chapters will be at total and no chapter is eligible for spring recruitment. In that case, you would have to wait until Fall recruitment to join a sorority.

There are 7 NPC sororities on the SWT campus, 3 Multicultural sororities and 3 NPHC sororities.

Shawndalynn: My daughter is a Zeta at SWT. There is a spring rush, it is in January, right when the second semester begins. You need to contact the GreekLife office in the LBJ student center and find out how you get involved, as it is somewhat different than fall rush. Even a house like ZTA, which is very good there and filled quota, will have girls leave, graduate, etc in December. I think they took 8 girls for spring rush last year. Good luck. Don't see too many from SWT on these boards.
