Sorry boys, this is one for the girls again! Just curious what is that ONE makeup thing that you cannot live without--like that you wear every day and have a hissy fit when you run out of. Or I guess you could do one make up and one body thing! I'll go first!
Makeup--
Urban Decay lip pencil in Glam
Body--
Clinique exfoilating scrub--I LOVE soft skin!

One?! Oh, dear. If I *had* to pick only one thing, it would be lipstick. My favorite right now is the color Ribbons by Chanel -- the most gorgeous pink color.
For the body, I love those "earthy" soaps by Kiss My Face that are made with olive oil.

Yes!!! Elizabeth Arden flawless finish sponge-on cream makeup. I can't use any other foundation. I will not wear make up unless I have this on under all the other stuff.

I don't wear a lot of makeup but I couldn't pick just one thing.
* Showering with B&BW loofah and great smelling shower gel
* A little Neutrogena oil free moisterizer
* Next I HAVE to cover my face in foundation (Clinique Superbalanced - probably a left over from when I had acne)
* Finally - can't leave the house without mascara!! (Maybelline Great Lash)
But I'm not high maintaince at all, really! ;)

I don't leave the house without my Lancome Magnificils Full Lash Precision mascara. Normally, I don't wear much makeup during the day but if I don't have my lashes curled and covered with mascara I look about 15 years old and I get all those "eew, look at that young unwed mother with the two kids" looks from people in the grocery store. So, I always wear that. Oh yeah, and Cherry Chapstick...cheap but good :D

Body: Lancome Aroma Calm Body night cream - it smells SOOOO good and makes my skin really soft
Face: Chanel Waterlights Sheer Makeup Stick (a foundation stick that goes on so easily and blends really well)
MAC pro-lash mascara
Nars orgasm blush
Smith's Rosebud Salve
I'm NOT high maintenance, I just like to wear makeup!!!

Estee Lauder Automatic Lip Pencil in Chocolate
Lancome Lipstick and matching Nailpolish in Foret Magique
I'm extremely picky when it comes to color of my lipstick- it's rarely perfect! It's gotta be brownish...

I love Estee Lauder's cosmetics. Anything and everything. Clinique has great lipsticks.
Let me ask you ladies...
I hear celebs talking about MAC all the time. I've been tempted to try (but I am so brand loyal) what do you think--is it great stuff or hype? I'd love to hear what you think...
Thanks!

MAC products are excellent and they're incredibly well-priced! Not much more than the "high end" drug store stuff like L'Oreal. Ecukd is right on the money with the clear lipglass; it's the best lipgloss I have ever tried and it's only $10 a tube. Wear your hair back if it's windy though, because your hair will stick to your lips if you don't!

OHH and let's not forget how to get the stuff off! I can't sleep with makeup on so I always wash my face before bed. Oil of Olay foaming face wash and Lancome effacil eye makeup remover are also a must along with my EA foundation

I got my Smith's rosebud salve at E6 Apothecary on Newbury Street in Boston. It's such a good all-purpose thing - like you can use it as eye gloss if you have no makeup or lip gloss or whatever...
I am addicted to MAC eye makeup and lipstick... it is definitely the best.

Almay Milk moisturizer is the absolute best. Its got sunscreen to keep me from getting old looking :) and somthing in it to make me look all glowy.

I love Garden Botanika. I was so upset when they went out of business. All of my make up is from there. Right before they went out of business, they had a huge sale where they marked down everything like 75%. I must've bought about 4 of each thing that I wear.

I also want to try what IowaHawkeye mentioned and the Almay milk moisturizer that juniorgrrl has.
As for me, i cant live without powder. I have the average oily t-zone and it gets on my nerves so much. Is there anything that can help an only t-zone??
Also, I love my clear mascara for daily use.

Okay..so I can't pick just one thing I can't live without, but i'll narrow it down to 3 :) :
1) mabelline full & soft mascara in black waterproof
2) benefit shelaq over the mascara, this is probably one the greatest products ever invented, i've gone out and partied, slept, and cried with this stuff on, and my eye makeup still looked as if I had just put it on
3) benetint by benefit blush, it looks really natural, like a flush from a cold windy day..its great

BuCutie--Yeah, I really do love the exfoilating scrub from Clinique. Its just enough to get your skin clean and give you that fresh faced look but not where it feels to harsh. And I really like their shampoo, too!

Ooh, Nucutiepie, I love Smith's Rosebud Salve, too! :D
I got mine at Pure Beauty - my fave store for hair products.
Alright, I know this has to do with makeup - but I honestly don't have a fave makeup product except for the Rosebud Salve and maybe Vaseline (does that count?).
Now, I definitely have fave hair products :D, so....
(all of these are expensive but well worth it.)
1) Alterna Hemp Seed Shampoo and the Hemp Seed Conditioner for Dry, damaged hair - it has done wonders for my way-too-many-times chemically-dyed hair!! My hair is so soft after this!
2) Joico K-Pak Shine Serum - great for smoothing out the frizzies and putting in some shine, also a great moisturizing treatment
3) Terax Crema Conditioner - I alternate between this and Alterna
4) Biogenol Color Care System, Ultra Deep Masque - deep conditioner that makes my hair feel like SILK! It does wonders! I use it about once a week
But seriously, I love these products all so much that they really don't deserve a numeric rating.
And since I'm in the mood for favorites :D (hope you don't mind AOPiLaLa!)
Fave perfumes:
CK Truth
any nice pink grapefruit scent
Clinique Happy
Px Calyx
Dolce and Gabbana Feminine
Ralph
YSL Babydoll

For foundation, I like Prescriptives Traceless. Supposedly, it doesn't add color, but it adjusts your skintone out. It comes in six levels (light to dark); I use Level 3.
Powder: Sephora Artist, neutral, no color.
Eyeshadow: Stila. I have three of them, Sun, Jezebel and Twig. Sun is a light golden color, Jezebel is copper and Twig is a dark brown with copper highlights.
Blush: Prescriptives Desert Rose or Clinique's Nearly Naked.
Eyeliner and mascara: Strangely, I use L'Oreal and Oil of Olay. I just don't spend major caiche on these items.
Lipstick: Club Monaco Copper or Shimmer. But I also have old Prescriptives colors, some of which aren't made anymore. that still haven't been finished after many years.
Lip liner: Prescriptives.

Okay, since everyone else is listing more than one thing, I will too.
You know what I like even more than benetint? Benefit also has this cream blush called "cheekies" -- it comes in a little tube and is awesome. It is so easy to apply and also looks very natural.
I also love this new powder I got -- it's called Magic by Prescriptives. It has a very, very subtle sparkle to it, and when you put it on, it feels wet and is very cooling. It's the neatest thing, and it looks fresh and not too powdery.
I also love Clinique eyeshadows, and their lipstick in Bamboo Pink is an awesome color.
Yes, I love makeup!

Okay...I can't live without Mascara, Blush, and Powder.
As far as makeup goes I have to use either Avon, or Max Factor. I really can't leave the house without a Covergirl Compact though. I think everyone has one of those- I love Avon though, because they have a million different kinds of lipstick- from gloss to irridescent to matte, to barely-there...in a million different colors. Nail Polish too... :)
As far as skincare goes- I use the old standards of Noxema (but I use the cleansing cloths)..then a light Clinique moisturizer..
Haircare- well I really like John Frieda's sheer blonde or Biologe...a bit expensive, but hell, it's worth it, right?
lol
Always,
Jess

Although the products might be good, i thought they were a little expensive. The blush was 26dollars and the lip balm was 18. I always buy from Clinique, and I guess their products cost about the same too, but when i go to the mall to buy from Clinique i never look at the price and just get what I want!
No wonder I always think I buy too much when they give me my total!

It really depends on if you prefer your lips to be glossy or GLOSSY if you know what I mean. Lip Gunk gives you a nice shine but LipGlass gives you the megawatt shine. Also, I have found that LipGlass lasts longer, but it feels heavier on the lips.
Personally, I think you should buy both! ;)

Well I got the benetint and benetint lip gloss on Monday. I do like the benetint because it makes my cheeks look like im flushing, and its a natural look. When I first put it on nothing showed up soi kept putting more and more on. I didnt know you have to wait a few seconds- minutes later my cheeks were really really pink! Anyway, i do recommend it if you want the natural pink-look on your cheeks.
As for the lipbalm, well i thought that too adds a natural looking rose color to your lips, but its just like other lipglosses I have used. It smells like roses, which im not too found of. I like the smell of flowers, but not on my lips. Plus, i paid 18 dollars for it which it ridiculous. Its not something amazing- so i wouldnt recommend that. I put it on after my lipstick for the "shiny" affect because since it was so darn expensive, i want to get my money's worth!;)

I wear Elizabeth Arden flawless finish foundation.
I wear Clinique lipstick...I think cherry cola.
When not wearing lipstick I wear Carmex or Softlips.
I get cheap eyeshadow from the grocery store or I use the free gift ones. I just use whatever neutral shade.
When I wear mascara it is Lancome Magnificils in Brown.
I do not chemically treat my hair. I use Aveda Rosemary Mint and Shampure. I rotate them. It works well that way. Sometimes I use the Curessence or Sap Moss...My mom is an Aveda junkie, so this is always available.
I always use Farouk silk protien on my hair after I wash it. I swear it can make anyone's hair look like a you just had it blown straight at the salon. I love it.
Also, I really like the Origins Salt Scrub. It is so awesome. We sell something like that at BBW but don't buy it...get the real thing!

I am pretty hardcore about my Chanel Glossimer lipgloss. I own five different colors, but my absolute favorite is Unity. It's the perfect glossy neutral brown color. It works on everyone. I love it, because it shines, doesn't smell and isn't "tacky" like MAC's lipglass (which I hate).

I wear Merle Norman everything and I use their skin care. It is awesome! All of my friend tease me though, they're like "How old are you-my grandma wears Merle Norman." It really is good stuff.
I like Aveda and KMS for my hair.
My favorite perfumes are Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan and Jean Paul by Jean Paul Gaultier. It depends what time of year I like something lighter in the spring and summer-something sweeter in the winter and autumn.
What about clothing stores? I could not live without Harold's.

Speaking of makeup and such...did you know that when you return something to bath and body works, we throw it directly into the trash? Even if we know you couldn't have used it. It goes completely to waste. I told our manager that we should at least take it to the homeless shelter or something and she said she had already lobbied for that and the company insists that you toss it!

I can't live without Clinique's Glosswear line (Tenderheart is my favorite but I wear most of them) and my all-time favorite lipstick, Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. It suits everyone, I swear!!
My fragrances of the moment are Ralph Lauren's Glamorous and Ralph as well as Lancome's Miracle. Mmmm. :)
Has anyone tried Clinique's new "Happier"? My senior year in h.s., I wore Happy like it was going out of style! It still reminds me of that time in my life, so I hardly ever wear it (unless I want to feel 17 again!) but I'd love to try this new one. What do y'all think of it?

I hate MAC but cannot live without Bobbi Brown or Stila. My current faves:
Eyeshadow: BB Petal, Stila Kitten
Lips: BB Brown Shimmer (been wearing it for years) and Stila Petal Shine
Foundation: Senna custom blend (There are Senna stores in So. Cal. and it is sold at Marshall Field's in Chicago and OH, but you can also check out their web site at www.sennacosmetics.com). They also sell this amazing green stuff to go under your foundation. Really gets rid of the red in the skin. I am also totally adicted to my Anna Sui shimmer for nights on the town.
Eyeliner: BB Steel or any dark brown Senna color
Hair: I love ARTec smoothing shampoo and conditioner and cannot live without Farouk's BioSilk.
Scent: Hanae Mori or Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant (ladies, the men love this one).
After reading this it is difficult for me to believe that I don't wear makeup every day. Guess I am just picky about it when I do. By the way, they sell BeneFit at some Bloomingdales and Nordstroms stores and all Sephora stores. They usually don't carry the whole line though.

Finally there is someone else who has heard of Hanae Mori!! Her "Butterfly" is my absolute favorite perfume in the world. I got hooked on it one day as I was walking through Marshall Field's and got handed a sample. I'm very picky about perfume and don't like much, but it smelled so good I had to go back and buy it. I wore it for the first time on my wedding day, so now it always reminds me of that day. :)

1) I have blonde eyelashes, so mascara is a must. Maybelline Volum'Express Mascara. Lots of it.
2) I also have really bad skin, acne plus rosacea. I've been on Accutane for about a week now so it should start clearing up soon, but until then I go NOWHERE without Stila foundation (shade A, heh heh for Albino, I'm really pale)
3) If I'm wearing mascara and foundation, then I can't be without lipstick, and the color I wear depends on what I'm wearing. Favorites are Stila lipstick in Wendy, MAC lipstick in Redwood or Twig, Victoria's Secret lipstick in Ruby Slippers or Red Velvet. Stop that laughing, Victoria's Secret makes wonderful makeup...they make this cream-to-powder stuff with an SPF 10 that totally cuts down the red in my face and I'll die if they ever discontinue it.
and always, Neutrogena Moisture and Chapstick Lip Moisturizer, both with an SPF 15.
Wow, I really had to cut that list down. I can't go NEAR a Sephora without spending at least $100, I need to stay away, especially since I have discovered three new fave makeup brands, Bloom, Tony and Tina, and TooFaced. But if I had to buy only one brand for the rest of my life, it would be MAC. If you need a color, they make it. I actually got into them a number of years ago, when I had trouble finding a foundation light enough to wear. Clinique didn't make one and I went to the MAC store on a whim. The rest is history
Going to stop now, for real.

Ok, here goes:
Face: I stick to the basics here...Cover Girl foundation or powder...sometimes if I have a big party to go to, I mix a bit of the foundation, some moisturizer, and some shimmering loose powder together and slather that on my face. Very shimmery.
Cheeks: in the summer I use Cover Girl, and in the winter I use Avon Sheer Cheek Tint...I'm all about the "why yes, I did just finish skiing" flush:D
Lips: I'm such a gloss whore...I have like, 10 different kinds all over.
Eyes: Hard Candy glitter liners-eye liner with glitter in them, love the colors!!. Also, Stila eyeshadow in Diamond Lil.
I just luf anything Stila; whenever I'm splurging on make-up, thats the counter I head straight for.

Gammazetagrl, you know what, I'm always frustrated when I get a makeover done, b/c usually the MA puts too much unnatural makeup on my eyes! I'm also an Asian, and though I have double-lidded eyes and creases (as opposed to typical single lids for Asians), my creases (and eyes) are not as big as the typical Caucasian's. The MA forgets that, it seems, and totally overdos the eye makeup, causing me to look like some hooker! LOL.
Anyhow, I did have one successful makeover done a few months ago, for a college interview (which went very well, I'm glad to say! :D). It was at MAC. God, I love that line. So practical, no-nonsense, sleek...
The MA applied these things on me, and I was so happy with the products that I bought them:
1) Sheer Studio Finish Matte Foundation in NC35
2) Matte Blush in Prism (love the color - pinkish brown, the perfect color)
3) Pro Lash in Coal (best mascara I've ever tried- and I've tried too many to count!)
4) Eyeshadow in Malt (perfect nude color as a base for the eyes...doesn't look like makeup at all)
5) Lipstick in Taupe (great color, can be toned down for day, turned up a notch for night)
I do have a favorite that's non-MAC though, haha. I do love Benefit's Eggplant Mascara. Though it doesn't give as much an eye-opening look as does the MAC Pro Lash, it's a beautiful color which brings out the golden flecks in my brown eyes. It's also super-conditioning and smells wonderful (rosewater).
ladyj - hey there! I haven't talked to you in a while...how are you? Anyhow, I know what you mean about Sephora, too! God, I could live there ;).

Oh, I have a question for those who wear MAC foundation - is it just me, or do they smell a tad bit? The smell reminds me of rubber or something!

Newbie -- I think all MAC makeup smells and I can't wear it for that reason. Some of my friends insist that the lipsticks smell like vanilla but I can't smell anything that resembles vanilla (and I don't really like vanilla scent anyway).
Glad to hear your college interview went well. Where do you want to go?

Thanks for your post, lauradav! Yes, their lipsticks do smell like vanilla, but I have no prob with that as at least that smells good! ;) LOL.
Well, I do want to go to the University of Southern California. I'm holding my breath, though, because it's getting soo competitive these days. Their avg GPA and SAT scores are scary. I think I read in previous posts that your alma mater is UCLA? I'll be dodging bullets, now! ;) J/K. My sister went to UCLA and is disappointed that I want to become a Trojan. She never forgets to bash 'SC! My top three choices are all in SoCal, and I'm hoping that I can at least get into one of them...and be happy there, of course!

Was the Alpha Phi you met this summer from USC? Just out of curiousity b/c the shirts you described in your post were USC shirts a couple of years ago and it sounded like something that one of my girls would say. I went to USC for law school and while I am a die hard Bruin I definitely understand why people want to be a part of the Trojan family.

Yay Car! I'm glad you're still interested in USC. Keep me posted on how that goes. I am looking at Grad school there and (yikes) UCLA. :)

Clinique concealer smells too--I have a realllly sensitive sense of smell and it drove me nuts for the first few weeks I used it--only that its such great concealer kept me using it and now I don't notice the smell anymore.

Lauradav, actually, the A-Phi I met was from UC Santa Barbara! (Another school that I wish to attend.) I have not met any USC A-Phis, but if they're as cool as the one I met from UCSB, they would be awesome. Is it true that Maile from the pop group Eden's Crush/Popstars was an Alpha Phi at UCLA? I asked my sister but she said she didn't know. Yes, I really want to become a part of the Trojan family! :) That is so ironic that you attended USC Law School. My sister has a few friends that ended up attending USC Film School after being an undergrad at UCLA.
Amycat, sorry I still haven't emailed you back! I will do so right after I post this. Guess what, I just submitted my USC app and I feel GREAT! No more college apps to fill ;). Good luck in your grad school quest! I think it'd be so cool if we both went to USC at the same time - me as an undergrad, you as a grad student ;).

I use the "acne fighting" concealer. Its amazing, and keeps you from breaking out!

Newbie, I love the girls at UCSB --they are another of my chapters and they are absolutely fabulous young women!
Yes it is true that Maile was an Alpha Phi at UCLA. We were in the chapter together. She did a lot of our rush entertainment and is truly one of the most gifted singers I have ever met.
A lot of the undergrads at UCLA go to USC for grad school and vice versa. UCLA is actually the single largest feeder school to USC law school. Kind of ironic.
Amycat, I will try to PM you again. Weird, it hasn't shown you as being online for the past little while either. On the Clinique note, I used to use Pore Minimizer. I was totally adicted to that stuff b/c I have really oily skin (keep reminding myself no wrinkles as I get older), but they discontinued it a year and a half ago. They've tried to get me try the concealer you use but I am always scared of new concealers or foundations. Based on your vote I may just have to try it!

Laura-
Give the concealer a try. I don;'t have bad skin--but like you, its oily and I have big pores. And of course the occasional breakout and lingering blemish.
I used to have to use when I used Prescriptives--concealer (which concealed nothing) base and powder.
With the Clinique, not only has my skin cleared considerably--all I use it the concealer and their pressed powder compact. I feel so low maintenance compared to my old routine and love the feel of virtually no makeup on my skin!
:)

I'm definately a Clinique girl... oh yeah... I CANNOT live without my Citybase foundation matte powder, but THIS is what the guys flock to in my opinion B&B Calming Waters lotion, trust me!!! You all have to try it.
Funny story... the other day I was at the bars and one of my Phi Sig friends, Dan, came up to me and said "I smell fruit!" He proceeded to smell me and all of my roommates and then say "Why do girls always smell like fruit!? Guys don't even like fruit! I want a girl who smells like steak and mashed potatoes!" I was dumbfounded! As much work and money as most girls put into smelling good, and some fraternity guy wants me to smell like meat??? Goodbye Vickey Sec's! Hello prime rib!!!

Ohmygosh!!! I forgot to add that new Covergirl Outlast. I am soooo serious ladies, if you want a lipstick that is completely eating-proof, smoke-proof, makeout-proof, and... well... you get the idea, you have GOT to try this stuff. I prefer the color Brazen Raisin.

Lauradav, isn't the UCSB campus gorgeous? I visited this summer, along with USC and another school - and I fell in love! But 'SC is still my first choice, though - I felt more at home there than anywhere else.
Wow, Maile was in the chapter when you were there! That is so cool :D.
Amycat, I have a question about the powder thing - my skin is extremely oily (I hate it, but hey, when I'm older = no wrinkles!) and when I try powder, it just isn't the right color, and it looks so obvious :(. Am I doing something wrong? I have a hard to match skincolor, so maybe that's it. I've tried blotting papers and mattifying fluid but it just doesn't work! :( (I.e., it only works for about 30 minutes.) I guess I'll be stuck with shiny skin.

I always use NARS blush in orgasm (funny name I know), stila lip glaze in strawberry (it's really shiny and not goopy!), and either clinique eyeshadow or hard candy eyeshadow. I went to this store called Ulta when I was visiting family out west and they had Pupa, so I bought two of their kits and I just love their eyeshadows and mascara. I may be switching! :D I'm a makeup junkie, I almost went to a college just for the sephora ( I didn't though...and have to go to Chicago to get my sephora fix)!

I have oily skin too and hard to match skin color--in that things tend to change color on my face--yes freaky--when I used prescriptives I had to use the expensive custom blend to get it right, but clinique for some reason, works. I think it is more "basic" in its colors so it matches a lot of diff skin tones-- let the clinique makeup counter women work with you, they'll find one that works. And, it totally absorbs the oil too-I've had no shiny nose and cheek issues since I've been using clinique.

I like L'Oreal's makeup. I've always thought they have the BEST mascaras! I've tried Cover Girl, Maybelline, Mary KAY, and Clinique and Loreal is the best!!!
I also use one of their eyeliners- It's a kind that is always sharpened. It's very easy to blend- that's what makes it great!
Just got their Color Fresco eye color in Icy Spice. It goes on wet and cool and then dries very quickly. LOVE it!!!
Cover Girl's sheer lipstick is great- it's like chapstick with color , very hydrating. \
BUT THE BEST SECRET I HAVE IS: Coty eye-rimming pencil in white. I would notice in college these soap opera stars had something white on the rims of their eyes-really made eyes stand out. Coty also makes it in a slight blue for those with brown eyes. And some other colors, but white can be used for all color eyes- looks great when you are tan.
Have any of you read the book, Don't Go to the Beauty Counter without Me? by Paula somebody(don't remember last name) . She tests all makeups & rates them. It's at the library too.

I've heard that Lancome and L'Oreal are virtually identical products (made by the same company) but L'Oreal costs less than half as much. Anyone know if this is true?

I used to be completely Clinique loyal.. but then I ran a little low on the $$$. So I got hooked on Jane and Covergirl. I once found a Wet and Wild lipstick that was the perfect color, and stayed on no matter what I did. Then I lost it and couldn't find it at the store ever again. I just newly got hooked on Mary Kay, and I love their Velocity Facial Cleanser and Lightweight Moisturizer. I love Velocity stuff because it smells exactly like Clinique Happy!

What's all this fuss about make-up? If you're ugly, you're ugly! :D
Anyways, whenever I "go out" a little blue eyeshadow and frosty lipstick will do it.

So I guess I am succumbing to the magnetism of this thread for all girls ;). So here is what I use:
I swear by plain old Dove soap for my face and body. I believe it's compatible with all skin types.
Follow with Oil Of Olay SPF 15 lotion. *Note* Make sure you apply some kind of SPF every day to your neck and chest area. These areas age faster than facial skin and have an appearance 7 years older than that of the skin on the rest of your body. This is how you can tell if a person has had a facelift, etc. The face will appear youthful while the neck reveals the true age of the skin plus 7 years.
I don't really wear mascara since my eyelashes are already dark and long and I'm pretty sure I look like I'm wearing false lashes a la Tammy Fay when I wear mascara. But I must wear Body Shop's black liquid liner. On the bottom I wear a little smudged Black Kohl penicl liner. DO NOT wear liquid liner under your eyes unless you are a pro. It looks very odd and very "Cabaret"-ish.
I swear by cream rouge on the cheeks or Body Shops blush beads applied on the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin for a natural sun kissed look.
On the lips is plain old Carmex. $1.39.

I am another Clinique fan, won't leave the house without Almost Makeup. I love it because it is so light, and also has SPF 15. I also am a Chapstick, Carmex, Softlips fiend, but was told recently by a dermatologist that plain old vaseline is the best for keeping your lips moisturized and soft. It works great, and I put some on before bed every night. I love Maybelline mascara the best, and think it works even better than more expensive brand names.

Why do a lot girls wear mascara to dances and parties, when they know they are going to wind up

Why would a girl expect to cry at a dance or party? I don't think I understand your question.
Do you mean, that for stuff like weddings, etc. where there is a possibility of crying, women should not wear makeup or try to look prettier? That's what waterproof makeup and bathrooms at receptions are for! lol

lovelyivy explains it really well. You should try Lancome Eternicils. Lasts FOREVER on me. I can go swimming w/it if I want! However, it's really hard to take off so I have to use Bi-Facils by Lancome to remove it (the only remover that I've tried -- and I've tried many -- that actually removes totally waterproof mascara).
So expensive but very worth it. I've had too many embarrasing instances where I've had black-streaked cheeks after crying.

While in Australian, I find that North American brands like Cover Girl, Max Factor and Maybelline are quite expensive (for what you get!)
I discovered this brand in Australia, Napolean.
http://www.napoleoncosmetics.com/
The stuff is great, and I think they want to set up shop in North America soon. The quality is like MAC and Napolean himself is a makeup artist, who had a hand is the development and creation of his own makeup line.
Anyhow, I love the stuff and it is wonderful!
