To not hijack The Snuggie thread, we need one to discuss all the ridiculous stuff sold on tv.
While watching a DVRd episode of the new Rock of Love on a tour bus, I saw a commercial for Easy Curves. I would not look at it at work.
www.easycurves.com
It reminds me of junior high sleep overs and "I must, I must I must increase my bust"

I've ordered some - I'll let you know how they work. It takes 2 - 6 weeks (wtf?) for delivery, and ordering them on phone is a PAIN. They keep asking you if you want some wedding white ones, or fashion colours, or who knows whatall. I got them, thinking I can take 3 (you only wear one bra at a time) and give the other 6 to my two daughters.
I'm tired of having to tug at a strap while lecturing.

The best "As Seen on TV" product is the Ped Egg!!! I LOVE this product. It really is nothing more than a micrograter like I have for the kitchen, but for people with lots of dead skin build up on their heels, this is a miracle! Beware...use the product on dry skin only (if you soak first, it won't work) and put a paper towel on the floor (you will make a mountain of dead skin and the contraption does NOT catch it all as the makers imply!)

When I was in MS/HS they sold something similar at like Walgreen & such, and it worked great. Maybe i'll wait to see if Walgreens gets it, cause they sell a lot of "As seen on TV" stuff (like the pedi-cure, the green bags, sham-wows, etc)

I did something wrong, then, because I looked like my feets had been mauled by lions afterwards! Guess I didn't have enough callouses?
Anyhow, I do NOT recommend using this for the first time just prior to vacation.

Yes, the PedEgg does work and it is DA' BOMB. Ditto about putting a paper towel underneath your feet because some will fall out of the egg. But other than that, no complaints here! :)

I have yet to get a GF grill and the Food Saver. Now that the Boy and I are eating in more often, they'll be very handy to have and hopefully they'll help us save money.
We use our GF two or three times a week. It's nice if you live in an apartment, want to grill, but don't have the outdoor space. It doesn't taste like grilled food though, even if you don't like charcoal and use gas or propane instead.

My cat HATES the PediPaws I bought for her at CVS. But then again, she's a completely spoiled psycho.
I'd like to try the Smooth Away and the Strap-perfect someday, but that would require me to have extra cash on hand to fritter away.\
And GF grills are awesome for making grilled cheese sandwiches!

The ones I used to use (I can't even remember the name) did work very well. I don't know about the whole "it exfoliates your legs and leaves them smooth" but it got the hair off.
The only problem I had was the fact that I have REALLY dry legs, so the pads would wear out more quickly b/c of all the dry skin it had to slosh off (lol).

I highly recommend the green bags for produce. They truly do extend the life of your fruits and vegetables, especially bananas. I love bananas but I usually have to buy a couple that are ripe, a couple that are half ripe and a couple that are green to get me through a whole week. The green bags are great for lettuce too. I immediately transfer the bagged salad I buy into those and it stays good much longer! I thought they were pricey but my neighbor gave me one to try and I was sold. I throw out so much less produce now that I think they pay for themselves.

I had some similar bags I got and they were a god send at the dig site last summer. I had my clothes sorted into bags, and it kept the dust off my clean things, and all I had to do was grab one item from each bag to get dressed. The dirty clothes stayed outside and went into a laundry bag. I had the cleanest and most organized tent at any archaeology dig known to man. I also wore makeup every day and brought my hair straightener, plus shaved every time we got a shower, so take that as you will.

Anything for a lift! AND, I have a gift card to BBB!
-Have the Magic Bullet - would rather have a real blender (mine is at my house, my mother decided she didn't need hers anymore); the one minute bit doesn't do it for me. I think that having bought it (them) from an informercial (read: paid too much) soured me somewhat.
-The Ped-Egg destroyed my feet for about 3 weeks. I guess I was too hard on myself with it.
-Love, love, love the Space Bags! I may actually get another set. All my summer whites are in them, but I haven't tried them with sweaters. Has anyone?
-Another fine hair victim. I think it would be easier to tweeze my hair rather than sand it.
-The GT Express Cooker. Think shaped electric frypan. My mother watched that informercial. I think we need to join Informercials Anonymous!

So today I saw an informercial for some pots & pans, but I can't remember the name. Apparently they are super non-stick, that they were cooking an egg (i believe it was sunny side up) and when they moved the pan, the egg would slide to the side. If it really does cook the pancakes the way it showed, then I want it!!

Double post, but does anyone own the Sham-Wow (the towels that are supposed to be super absorbent). I keep seeing the commercial, and i'm curious to know if they are really that good.
I got about half the Sham-Wow pack from my dad the other week. I was so excited because for some reason, I buy a lot of clothes that are "hand wash only." So I figured, perfect! I can roll my shirts in the Sham-Wow and stop using up regular towels to absorb the extra water before I hang them to dry.
I would like to rename them the Sham-Eh. Maybe it's just me, but they're no more absorbent than my bath towels! And when you buy them brand new out of the pack, they smell horrible! Plus I've only thrown mine in the wash twice, and they're pretty much shriveled to half their original size. I have yet to try them in the kitchen - maybe they'll be better - but I'm not holding my breath.

The consensus of the reviews I saw said that:
-- It takes forever to ship
--It only costs $19.99, but most people got charged anywhere from $30-100
--It breaks easily...like VERY easily
--The "edger" portion of the painter doesn't work and you'll still get paint on the trim

I heard another commercial with Vince, this was for the Slap Chop www.slapchop.com On the website it says CHOP NUTS WITH ONE SLAP hee hee. He markets it as a way to be in a great mood all day because you can slap away. Just by adding veggies to tuna it makes your life exciting.
You're going to love my nuts! Just one finger, some people use their whole hand.
Not seeing this and just hearing him was hysterical.
You can also get the graty, and put two kinds of cheese in it at once. Fettuccine, linguine, martini, bikini.

YES! I was coming to post this.
I also used a product called The Strapper that was like The Perfect Strap. It is a great alternative to having only racer back bras. (All my bra strap slide off my shoulders otherwise.)
It can be uncomfortable depending on the kind of strap and if it slid too far up, it would kind of make the straps cut in to me. Does Perfect Strap have that problem?
SWTXBelle
03-08-2009, 05:32 PM
It slides up - I make sure to put it below the buckles on the individual straps so it can't go up too far. I haven't had a problem with straps digging in even when it does ride up a little - and it is very easy to pull down.

I got the strap perfect at walgreen and I have to say that it works good to hide the bra strap, but damn it HURTS. It makes my bra dig into my shoulder!!!! :(
I guess i'll have to play around with it and see if I can get it to a place where it doesn't hurt my shoulders.

Did you loosen the band? It needs to be pretty loose - when you put the strap perfect on it will take up the slack. It shouldn't hurt. Mine rides up a little throughout the day - I just yank it down!

My mom decided to send me a "hi Jill" pkg: a topsy turvy tomato planter. We'll see how it works. DH and I set it up last night

I just posted in Entertainment because I didn't know about this thread, but has anyone checked out Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel?

No, but I did see the promo for that. "Find out why there's more to selling than just the yelling!"

I bought Perfect strap at Bed, Bath, & Beyond in february right before my trip to LA. I love it! It took some getting used to, but it really does work I think.

Okay, I actually bought the ShamWow. I don't know. It didn't seem to soak things up any better than an ordinary towel.
I'll tell you what does work...MIGHTY PUTTY! I love this stuff.

Mighty putty does work! It fixed my son's car, my car, our vacuum, and it really does seal a leaky a garden hose!

I bought the Bump Its. I have thick hair but it's very fine and when I straighten it it always lays flat. I tried the two sizes it comes with and I just didn't have enough hair to 1- keep it in and 2- cover the plastic. I haven't tried the little Bump It they include for bangs.

I remember once there was an instructional vid being marketed on tv--it was supposed to help "unleash the talented singer in you." There was one chick singing an Avril Lavigne ballad and she sounded like a brunette Barney.

totally didn't see your post. I didn't loosen the straps, but that is because my bra straps were already at its loosest (is that a word? lol) I did try it with a different bra and it worked MUUUUCH better. So I guess it was with that particular bra.

How about the Glass Wizard?? My mom is thinking about buying it but is apprehensive so I figured I'd ask around on here.
