Hey ladies! I know in the rush forum, there's a lot of talk about rushing, but none of these women are going through rush at schools with D Phi E. How are your chapters doing? Have you done recruitment? How many new members have you got? I need to hear how well we're doing :)

Hey!

Just to let you know, we won't be rushing (formal) untill spring '02. Numberwise, we have about 25 sisters. (We're rather small, but we intend to get lots of new members)
I hope this helps. When spring rolls around, I'll keep you updated!

Kristen--

What chapter are you at? What school? What sororities are there at your school?

I wish you the best with rush in the spring.

Heather

Hey!

i probably should have mentioned that when i orignally posted.
I'm from the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw Georgia. Being a somewhat smaller commuter campus, we only have two NPC sororities, DPhiE and Phi Mu.
There is a possiblity that we might expand, but it probably won't occur for a few more years. Thanks for the well wishes!

Kristen

New Paltz is starting on Wednesday, classes start today - wow they move much faster on that campus then they did when I was in school! We usually had a week or two to be back at school before rush started.

Yay! Congrats to the Kappa Colony!

Formal Recruitment events are as follows:

Sun. 9/15 - Round 1 - Mandatory Meeting with the Rho Chi's (although I am not sure what they are going to call them at TAMUK.. that school has not had formal recruitment in a long time) Then the groups will visit all 3 sororities (Theta Phi Alpha Colony, [future] DPhiE colony, and Psi Theta Upsilon (local sorority)

Mon. 9/16 - Round 2 - Philantrophy - (invitational)All groups will meet with the three sororities again.. all meetings are 30 minutes each

Tues. 9/17 - Round 3 - Sisterhood - Same as Monday; all groups will meet with the different sororities, 30 minutes each

Wed. 9/18 - No Events

Thurs. 9/19- Round 4 - This day, all the sororities will have an hour. It's not called "Preference Night" so I am not sure how the Greek Office is going to hold it? I will find out from one of the girls and let you know! Then the PNM's will sign their bids, and bid matching will be done.

Fri. 9/20 - Bid Day!

the tamuk ladies begin the recruitment process tonight.. i will keep everyone posted as soon as i get the information!!!

this is a little off-topic, but does anyone know if a Delta Phi Epsilon chapter ever existed at the University of North Texas?

I was just wondering because that is where I am attending school now. I love everything Delta Phi EPsilon stands for and would love to try to start a sisterhood here! If anyone has any information, I would greatly appreciate it!

No chapter has existed at North Texas. I know that a chapter was at UT-Austin years ago.

Good luck :)

Incorrect Shadokat. The Phi Zeta chapter existed at UNTD in the early 1970's. TexasPrincess, I was at Kingsville for round 1 and I spoke to the girls about who you were and where you attend college. Please IM me so I can discuss your current campus with you further. As far as recruitment #'s at TAMUK, 32 girls were there for round 1 (which was lower than expected ) but a lot were stuck out of town due to flooding I am told. It is possible they will let girls start recruitment tonight but if not, we are looking at quota being between 8-10 max, the rest of the women will need to be picked up in COB so that we can get to 25 to colonize. Our women did an amazing job. I am very proud of them!!!

Even better! Quota was 21 and only one group got quota - US! and we got 2 more women (either quota additions or snap bids, not sure). I spoke to one of our council members today who confirmed it!

It is only 7:48am in Kingsville TX right now, just 7 hours after bid matching..I got a voice mail from our chapter consultant that we took Quota+1 for a total of 10 new women last night!!!

This brings their total to 19 amazing women and they will COB over the next few weeks to at least 25 women. Colonization is scheduled for October 12.

I am sooo proud of them!

Alpha Chi chapter got 7 girls from recruitment!!! There was no quota, but 50 girls went through the process, and there are 10 sororities, so that would mean quota would've been 5. Way to go to my girls!!!! :)

Only three of the six sororities on the FIU campus met quota earlier today....and DphiE was one of them!!!! Not only did the Alpha Gamma Chapter pick up 42 amazing women, we did not go below our top 45!!! We were so overwhlemed at bid day as we received these women into our chapter of 56!!! As i spoke to a few of our New Members this afternoon, they confessed that they had SUICIDED DphiE because they could not picture themselves anywhere else!! I'm sooooooo estatic!!!

I have heard from the ladies at Texas A&M University Kingsville that they picked up the most *~amazing~* women at recruitment this last week!

They will be holding COB events to meet [or exceed] the 25 member requirement for colonization~!

I will be getting pics soon and will post them to their website for everyone to see!

edited to include: I just got word that chapter total will be 35, so the ladies may continue to hold COB events until they reach that number if they choose to!

I have heard from the ladies @ TAMUK and they said COB events had great turnouts! (The first event had an attendance of about 30 girls.. which is almost equal to the number of ladies who went through formal recruitment!)

They will be holding an Invitational Dinner tomorrow and will be inviting 11 women to attend. Of the 11 women, the women who choose to attend will recieve a bid to join. If all 11 women attend and accept bids, their total size will be 30!

Their colonization will be held this weekend! I wish I could be there with them!

Hey - Congratulations Psi! 9 new members is phenomenal! I know that COBing can be so hard sometimes - it taking us forever to get the hang of it. I remember you guys from Convention and its awesome to hear your hard work is paying off! Keep it up!

And... not to toot Eta's horn but we are PSYCHED to welcome 4 wonderful women to the Winter 2002- 2003 New Member class! (I'm surprised Fire didn't break the new herself! Hehehe...) This is the first winter new member class we've taken since 1994 and the first winter class any sorority has taken as long as I've been at Pitt (which is forever I'm beginning to feel like!).

A funny story - one of the new members of Fall 2002 is on Pitt's Dance Team. The first football game after rush, we made her a sign that said "D Phi E loves Courtney!" on one side and "GO PITT!" on the other. We got to the game early and had the whole sorority and the new members right up front. We were on the Jumbotron three times! Well that's how 2 members of the Winter new member class found out about us - when the got back to campus, they looked up the chapter's wesbite, liked what they saw, and emailed us, asking about recruitment. Who says PR isn't going on 24/7/365? LOL
