Husband didn't get me anything this year -- not even the Hello Kitty necklace he said he was getting me. I bought my own gifts and wrapped them, too. I also wrapped all the gifts for him, and the gifts for our two sons. :(
So I gave myself a new crock-pot and an ipod dock station. Yea me.
We are going up to Maine for a couple of days, so I expect to be able to do some serious shopping while there to make up for his massive gaffe.

We had talked about and got a Wii a few days ago. I didn't give hubby much to go on but he did get me the Brighton badge holder  cause i keep forgetting mine and I'm not supposed to be in the building without it.:o Also a book on the comic strip "Mutts". B&N gift certificate
Last week I did my own "Christmas" shopping since things were on sale. Got me a Brighton bracelet to go with some earrings I already had (didn't know there was one until I got a mailer), plus a VERY COMFY comforter set cause Linens & Things is going out of business plus some small stuff for decorating the new house. ;)
I'm sweet, I got my hubby an unexpected 16gig ipod, a Backyard Astromer book, http://www.fuzziwigscandyfactory.com/tour.php# candy from when we were little (like Teaberry gum and bubble gum cigs and Necco wafers) and a wall clock made like a violin

- Grand Marnier chocolates and $50 Starbucks card from my girls
- Hand and footprint picture from my kindergärtner
That's it - when you are unemployed, it's easier to keep to the "no gifts except for the kids" rule.
eta - but thanks to some generous friends, my boys had bikes under the tree from Santa, and all my children seemed quite happy with the few, but choice, gifts they received. So I'm happy.

An umbrella (sorely needed--my old one is on it's last legs!)

I actually have a few more presents coming from some friends (who are notoriously bad present senders...I send them theirs with time to spare every year; you'd think they'd learn!)
My boyfriend got me an iPod touch and an iTunes giftcard because I've been stealing his Nintendo DS - he figured I would play games on it. My dad gave me steak
knives (YES!!!) and cash. My boyfriend's brother and dad gave me a giftcard to Best Buy so that I could finish the Sex and the City series.

Apparently I was very good this year!
The roommate and my other friend who I exchanged gifts with got me cute tops from Express and Forever XXI.
I got cash & gift cards from relatives (always a great gift!)
My brother got me awesome, bright pink headphones to replace the ones that I broke a few months ago.
My BF completely surprised me with beautiful diamond earrings. It's funny because I'm not really an earring kind of girl (I had them pierced when I was 6 months old, and my mom just kept them in when I was young. I stopped wearing them when I started dressing myself) but I never want to take these out!! :)
And Santa (aka my parents) got me:
- Estee Lauder Perfume - Pleasures
- A really nice Estee Lauder make up set (Tippiechick, I think whoever shopped for you found the "buy a Estee Lauder fragrance and get a make up set" deal too! lol)
- AWESOME slippers... It was the thing I really, really wanted... my feet are always so cold
- A cute sweater & scarf
- A laptop case
- And a hoodie from my brother's high school (I went to an all girls high school and he goes to an all boys school...when I was in high school the boys I hung out with were from the other all boys school in the area...so even though I've graduated, I decided I should support my brother's school)
- A VS gift card
It was a great Christmas for me, and what's even better is for once I think I got everyone on my list stuff they LOVED:
I got my roommate this flavored shooter set & an Outback giftcard.
I got my other friend a set of cocktail mixers (it makes 12 different cocktails! I wanted to buy it for myself...)
I got my brother an iTunes giftcard, since his iPhone is basically glued to his hand.
I got my bf a body pillow which he's been wanting for a while and a White Sox shirt.
I got my parents mugs that I had made... they each have a different picture that I took from our favorite beach in Puerto Rico. And then my brother and I pitched in for a nice digital picture frame.
Christmas was a success :)

The gift giving was way random this year.
Sister/BIL/nephew: squirrel ornament, squirrel pin, yarn from Japan
BFF in Moscow: awesome socks and some lotion from BBW I may exchange
Boss: $20 gift card to the local food Co-op
coworker 1: bag of pecans from Alabama (everyone got this)
coworker 2: candles that smell like red hots (I gave them away because they gave me a headache, we all got stinky candles to set on fire)
parents: cash I think not sure yet
roommate: $1800 in rent I pay or get evicted, 10 hours of cleaning, utility bills, making up finals
not-boyfriend: telling me it isn't going to work because of X issues he never brought up, on a VOICEMAIL, and all issues are pretty much "change because I don't like you" and are reminiscent of my emotionally and verbally abusive ex. (This I a gift I would have preferred not to receive between my roommate getting drunk and breaking stuff, and then leaving the country).
I made a lot of gifts, which all had a sustainability twist. Knit shopping bags, knit towels and washcloths, knit coffee sleeves, and so on. I had a lot of yarn and no money thanks to my roommate's gift. I also ran out of time but with the weather it didn't matter as I didn't see anyone.
A bunch of little stocking things (Vitamins, a diary, Purell, socks etc)
Shirt (black and white)
Jeans from Old Navy
shoes (black flats)
Black sweater
$25 Urban Planet gift card
$150 cash
$50 La Senza gift card
$50 mall gift card
1 GB of RAM for my computer
Canon E770 IS camera (yay!)
grow your own Bonsai tree
Dark teal blue satin PJ's from La Senza
2 pair of flannel PJ bottoms
Lush (Avobath, Butterball, Golden Slumbers, A French Kiss, Marzibain)
The Filmmaker's Handbook book
What is Mr. Winkle calendar
Overall a good day - aside from all the frickin' snow. We couldn't get my grandma here from the nursing home, but luckily we got the car dug out and got over to see her. It's snowing again now, so we've had to postpone lunch at my dad's.

I've had a light Christmas so far. Tomorrow will be my big day (when I get gifts from my Dad and brother). My kids gave me a Janet Evanovich book and a gift set of Sensual Amber stuff from Bath & Body Works. My aunt gave me a scented oil/candle Christmas thing with nice smelling Christmasy scented oils. My Godmother sent me a Target gift certificate. My dad and my brother are generally the ones who are the big spenders though.

Ahahaha wow! My family does a gift exchange where you draw numbers to decide what order you pick a gift and then you can steal from people. That gift ended up being from my grandma! I almost stole the ShamWows from someone though...
Did anyone get anything that they will be returning?
My step-mom got me ugly ass PJs that don't fit right. I was joking with my sis cause they're the colors of another sorority. (Not like they don't have a cute color combo...they were just ugly PJs!)

Let me know how you like the Wii fit. I don't seem to do well with cows and tanks, ;)
The best game on the wii fit imho is the ski jump - so awesome! overall the whole thing is cool. I'm only 6 fit years older than my real age, but I hear some people have been upset about their fitness evals. It told my sister (39) that she was in her 60s! (She was a tad offended)
I've got the hang of the cow game, but I can't get the stupid air hockey paddle to do what I want it to do. The tank game is impossible.

I've already been told that I best get the ice cream making attachment immediately, if not sooner!
I feel obligated to state that, due to weird circumstances, my birthday wasn't really celebrated this year, so I think the guilt factor played heavily into my Christmas presents!

My parents bought the Artisan for me in navy blue during college. They refused to let me bring it with me to Phoenix, but it just sits on their counter and collects dust! For a housewarming present, they got me the Pro 5...I miss my Artisan though!!

Ok, my Christmas is done now. I got an external hard drive so I can back up pics, music, docs, etc. I got an Ihome type dealio (an off brand, but it works great!), Seasons 3 & 4 of Grey's Anatomy, a book titled "Monroeville: The Search for Harper Lee's Maycomb" , a Monroe County Heritage Museums refrigerator magnet, and a Monroeville, AL, Home of To Kill a Mockingbird travel mug (from my brother..guess where he's living these days?)

I was so torn between the pink and the sage. My kitchen has a botanical splash guard & prints in light pink & sage - but I thought that getting more pink would be easier than getting more sage. Hope I'm right!

-set of towels and rug for the bathroom
-a new Cowboys jersey (Romo)
-set of Bridal ornaments (German tradition)

A whole bunch of books (including three on the Supreme Court), some money, and some new shirts, with the big present being a nice new watch from my in-laws.
Also, used some of the Christmas money to buy a new suit yesterday, as I needed one.

I think it will be great! Post pics!!! :)
I looked up the color of my Artisan, it is called Green Apple. They used to have cute quilted covers in matching colors for the mixers on Amazon.

From DH:
- iPod Touch
- Chronicles of Narnia series
- Coldplay CD
- auxiliary cable to play the iPod in the Outlook
From my family (we draw names so we only have one person; my BIL had me):
- Mary Poppins DVD
- Beedle the Bard book
From my ILs:
- GC to local department store
- chintzy holiday plate
Pretty low-key for us. I LOVE my new iPod. My birthday is also 10 days after Christmas, so I know I'll get a few more things then.
I love my new iPod too... Live in has already said he misses me - I spend too much time playing with it!

We just got back from our honeymoon, so Christmas was kinda lean this year compared to past.
-The Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (which I needed so that I don't have to ring my mom every day when I'm trying to make something from my childhood. It's got great "everyday" recipes and advice on how to shop/buy...a staple for every kitchen!)
-How to Eat Supper by Lynne Rosetto Kasper from NPR's the Splendid Table (another book on how to cook damn near everything. I love this radio show and my husband and I listen to it every week and say "man I want to eat that!". So we got the book to help us cook it)
-Museum of the Missing (a book on art theft that I saw in Spain and wanted)
-The Decorated Tile by J&B Austwick (a book on British Victorian tiles that I need for my research that's out of print and kinda hard to get in the US)
- The Americans by Robert Frank with intro from Jack Kerouac (a beautiful photography book for my library).
and he/we got Rock Band 2 for the Wii. I saved for months to get this for him and he was so surprised when he got it because I kept it at my parents' house, and we had already opened "all" of our presents at home. Muwahaha.
